True Maya

Maya were sitting in the park, looking at the statues ones again. Riley and Farkle had to leave, so it was only her and Huckleberry left. He was sitting next to me, looking at her with very thoughtful look on his face, like he is trying to figure something out.

"Can you stop looking at me like that", Maya says with an annoyed voice, as she turn her head to look at him.

"Sorry, I'm just trying to figure something out", Lucas says.

"What are you trying to figure out?"Maya asks.

"Do you still like me, Maya?"Lucas asks while looking her directly into the eyes.

"Yes, I do", she said in return, with a small smile on her face.

"I'm glade you are back to being yourself, Maya", he says with a smirk on his face.

"That's the problem, I was always myself, but Riley thinks that I am trying to be like her. Just because I don't jump on a teacher's deck or do something outrageous, or like you. That doesn't mean I'm not me anymore. Riley keep trying to convince me that I only like you cause I'm trying to be like her. Well, that's not true, cause Riley sees you as this sweet, Lucas The good, who can never do anything wrong, I don't see you like that", Maya says.

"Well, what do you see me like?", Lucas asks.

"I see you as you are. You made some mistakes in the past, and you can't just hide that. It's a part of who you are, even if you like it or not. You sweet and loving, but with a little bit of a rebellious past. That's what I see you like, and there is nothing that could change that." , as Maya says the last part, she is looking Lucas directly in the eyes.

"Thank you, Maya", He says.

"For what?" , She asks.

"For seeing me as who I am, not just one part of who I am. That's why I choose you" , Lucas says.

"What!?" , Maya answer.

Just as Lucas is about to explain, his phone beeps. He writes a quick reply to whom it was that sent his a text.

"That was my mom, she want's me to come home for dinner. I'll see you tomorrow at school" , Lucas says. Lucas leans over, and gives Maya a kiss on the cheek, before walking away.

Maya is left there, thinking about what just happened.

"Did he just say he chooses me?" , Maya wonders out load to herself.
