I know I said that the Korrin family was from Dextra, but let's just say that Cairo was renamed to Dextra, okay? Okay. Enjoy!
Vanessa's POV
"Do I really have to be here, mom? I have something really important to do," I say.
"And what would that be, exactly?" She asks disapprovingly.
"Umm...I have...uh...sword practice," I say it as calmly as I can, hoping she'll buy it.
"Good. I'm glad you've started doing something useful instead of that dumb repair thing you do," she looks at me one more time before walking back to her so called throne room.
'It's not repair work, it's training. Not like you'd know, Ms. Preeminence,' I think when she's gone. Being cooped up in a dark mansion with no friends makes a person want to leave as much as possible.
I go to the the back exit that's near the back of the mansion and take off in a sprint to my secret workshop. It's in one of the larger sheds that my mom doesn't look at much, so I'm usually able to do whatever I want here. Mom doesn't know that I have powers.
She's too busy with her work to notice anything. I can use my technopathic ability, or at least that's what I call it, to build things like weapons or robots. The one I'm working on is a teleporter I can use to get in and out of the house without anyone noticing.
After about a half an hour, I finally finish the prototype of my teleporter, put in the coordinates of the mansion, and press the teleport button. In a flash of light, I'm not in my secret workshop anymore, I'm in a white hallway I've never seen before. Being the curious person I am, I start to walk to the door on the opposite side of the hall and open it.
Inside it were cells. Lots and lots of prisoner cells. From what I can tell, they're all empty. Then I see a small light from the farthest cell. As I get closer, I can see that it is a small fire that's coming out of a person's finger! The person looks like a girl with long brown hair in a ponytail, a silverish colored dress, and arm guards.
"Who's there?!" she asks. Apparently she heard me on my way to her.
"No one's here. This is all a dream," I say and wave my hands around.
"Seriously? That's the dumbest trick in the book. I know you're here," she replies.
"Well, it was worth a shot. I'm coming out now," I come into her line of sight, "I'm Vanessa."
"Okay...Vanessa. Why don't you help me out of here and I can get us both out of this place," the mystery girl says.
"How am I supposed to trust you when I don't even know your name?" I reply.
"Fine. You want to know my name? It's Valerie. Now can you open the door, already?" Valerie says annoyed.
"Yeah, yeah. Be patient, this might take a minute," I say trying to focus on the inner workings of the high tech lock. 'Please work, please work,' I silently plead. A few seconds later, I hear click and the door to Valerie's cell opens up.
"There you go! So, why were you down in the first place?" I question the newly freed prisoner.
"I honestly have no idea why that creepy lady wanted me. I think it was something about my powers. Man...I shouldn't have said that," she whispers.
"Ah ah ah! You can't stop now! Tell me about your powers!" I demand enthusiastically.
"You're not gonna leave me alone until I tell you, right?" I nod. "Fine. I seriously shouldn't be telling you this for reasons you probably won't understand, but what the heck. I might as well tell you. I'm a technopath, telepath, heliopath(fire), aquapath, shadowpath, tempopath, and a lot of others that I'll tell once we get out of here. Now it's time for you to explain what you're doing down here," she explains.
"Do I really have to?" Valerie glares at me. "Alright, alright. So, my name is Vanessa Korrin, I'm 16, and I have tech powers. That's about it for me. My mom owns this place and she doesn't let me out of the house, so I have no friends," I sigh at that last detail. "So how are we gonna et out of here? Do you have a plan?"
"Let's use your teleporter. It did get you in, so maybe it can get is out, too," she suggests.
"Oh yeah! I forgot about that. There's just one problem," I say.
"What?" Valerie asks.
"I need the exact coordinates or we can't go anywhere with this thing. Stupid prototype," I complain.
"Why don't you let me take a crack at it. I could probably tweak it so that we don't have that problem anymore," Valerie takes the teleporter from my hands and opens it up.
"Here's your problem: you wired it so that you needed the coordinates instead of using the simpler GPS wiring. All I need to do is connect these wires and viola! Functional teleporter at your service," she hands it back to me.
"Wow, thanks! That would have taken me forever to figure out how to do that. What's a GPS? I've never heard of it before," I ask, confused.
"How about I tell you once we're out of here. This place is creeping me out more than when I got here," Valerie states.
I search for the place she tells me about and press the teleport button. Once again, I am blinded by a bright light and transported to another unfamiliar place.

Hi guys! I hope you liked this chapter. It was sort of a filler chapter. Sorry if it feels kinda rushed, but, yes there's a but, first new character of this story. Vanessa is just like Adrien, just without the overprotective parent. She just doesn't care. Talk about bad parenting. But I have a question for you guys: do you want me to write a chapter about what happened while Valerie was there, or just continue from here? Tell me what you think. Don't forget to vote and comment, either!
'Til next time, see ya!
