Chapter 10
After four days...
I woke up at exactly twelve noon because of the clock's ring. I'm too lazy to stand up. Again, I closed my eyes. The alarm clock ringed again. Bad thing, I activated three alarms. I cleared away the drowsiness lurking in my eyes as I stood up. I headed to the bathroom and washed my face. Oh, look at those bags under your eyes. This doesn't suit me.
I slept late last night because I cleaned the house. What have I eaten? Did I just clean the house? Oh, yes. Nevermind, I'm just so worn out and I barely remembered Chase is picking me up at four. I still have four hours to prepare, though.
I opened the refrigerator and searched for a cold bottled water. By chance, there were two inside. I grabbed them and immediately put it on my eyes. My eyes are closed, don't you worry. Oh, no! I didn't pour the water on my eyes! I just placed the bottle on top of my eyelids, trying to get rid of the eye bags. I wish this is really effective.
I waited for ten minutes before I slid the bottles off my eyes. It actually helped... not so much. I rolled my eyes. I wasted my ten precious minutes. What the hell. I ignored the still-visible-bags under my eyes.
Again, I opened the refrigerator. What should I bring for the slumber party? It should be cold to keep us up all night. Different varieties of fruits came to my view. I nodded, knowing what I should do. I grabbed five pieces of strawberries, cherries, blueberries, and a red apple, a peach, and a kiwi. I also got a lemon juice. I planted the fruits on the table and sliced them into small pieces using a knife. I threw all of them inside the bowl and poured the lemon juice. I mixed them thouroughly and it's done. I placed it inside the refrigerator so that it will get colder. I sigh, smiling.
Next, I rummaged my closet, searching for a shirt that would fit the party. There's none. I ended up choosing a black-and-white-striped linen sweater partnered with beige tight jeans. I grabbed my underwear from the drawer, and I headed to the bathroom.
My bath lasted for forty minutes, to be exact. Now, I'm awake. I ordered two boxes of pizza: pepperoni and cheese. It was delivered right away. It's almost two in the afternoon, I still got two hours left. I dried my honey-dipped hair and braided it sideways after. Lastly, I slipped both of my feet into a pair of 3-inch black ankle boots. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. "You look great," I whispered to myself.
I wasted my time watching Enchanted. It's a great movie, you should watch it too! I was turning off the DVD player when I heard a honk outside. That should be Chase. I ran hurriedly towards the kitchen, taking the bowl of salad from the refrigerator. I snatched the pizza boxes carelessly from the coffee table, and headed to the front door. I opened the door using my elbow, unable to use my hands. Favorably, I opened it with ease.
When I opened the door, I caught his gaze. He is standing in front of the door, watching me intently. His face serious, yet touched with a bit solace in his eyes. I looked away, blushing. He was wearing a blue cotton shirt tucked inside his gray pants, partnered with a black belt. He was also wearing a black casual shoes. His hair chaotic. Hot. I noticed a white van parked in front of my house. Is that the van that always shows up? Yeah, it is. "Is that a van of yours? I've been always seeing that van in school," I said.
"Yeah, sort of. What a coincidence," he looked behind and smiled. "You ready?"
"Of course."
He slid the van's door open, allowing me to climb in. I sat next to Scarlett who is talking to someone over the phone. She waved her hand to greet me and smiled. I smiled back and placed the pizza boxes on my lap. "Let me have that," Keith said, pointing at the bowl I'm still holding. I handed the bowl cautiously. He looked so good with his plain white shirt, blue trousers, and black shoes. I loved how his eyeglasses matched his outfit today.
