Chapter 10

" I'll walk you back "
I grab my things and Brody helps me up. It's a short walk back, but his offer was sweet so I didn't complain.

I look over as we near my house and he seems a bit... anxious? He starts fidgeting with his hair, rubbing his chin, sighing and looking up. Something's up with him, the Brody I know always has something to say, he's a very confident guy, very laid back. He keeps turning his head the opposite way as me, small reflexes I notice.

"What the hell is going on?" I laugh

"What do you mean? " he asks seriously, his eyebrows creasing.

"You seem so tense, what's up?"

" Nothing!"

"Brody are we friends?"

"Yea."

"Then tell me what's bothering you! You're driving me crazy!"

He runs his hand through his hair before turning to me.

"I don't want us to be just friends again okay? That year we went out was the best year of my life! And I don't want to be your friend! I...I want to be more then that. You know how difficult that is? You know what it's like to be driven crazy for someone who might not feel the same?! God course you don't you're beautiful and... " he pulls his hair, clearly frustrated. ".... All the boys keep telling me to just back off, that it's over we ... us... we're done. They tell me I could get whatever girl I want that I've got lines waiting for me, but I want you! God I want you so bad ..."

"...No ones ever said something like that to me before" tears are rolling down my cheeks.

" I really care about you Liv"

I remember the nickname only he called me from two years ago. You know maybe it is time for a change.

" Brody..."

"Can we make this, us , work?"

"We can certainly give it a try" I smile. But I can only think of one thing. Brad...

Skye: Wait so if all you could think about yesterday the entire time he was blabbering about God knows what was Brad, then why'd you say yes?"

Olivia: He was not blabbering, it was sweet. And I said yes because...

Skye: Because he's the hottest guy on the west coast.

Olivia: no!

Skye: school polls say differently...

Olivia: I'm not talking about him being the hottest guy I mean that's not why I said yes!

Skye: Give me a reason. Or no. Ask yourself, could you say the same words he said to you back to him, and mean it? Genuinely mean it.

Olivia: Skye I like him a lot okay, I just... I think I like Brad to! And ugh we've been going out for a night and it's already complicated! But I can't imagine ending it! Especially since I'd be ending a great relationship and friendship!
