Wings that Spread Across Time Ch. 2

  Fem!reader x One Piece (Straw Hat Crew)

The first chapter was extremely long, but don't expect others to be the same length cause I'm still a busy person of society. I will try to make this series as long as possible for those who enjoy reading a long continuing story. Also, I am still a growing author so my work may have a few mistakes.

Once again, the story is set after the two year timeskip, after the Fishman Island Arc and before the Punk Hazard Arc.

Warning: Cursing is used once in this story to keep characters in place.

Disclaimer: I do not own the characters or world of One Piece, Oda Eiichiro (Eiichiro Oda) does and he is an amazing mangaka.

This is not a romance oriented fanfiction! There are parts that may hint a character liking another character, but this is not mainly focused on romance, rather it is just a story with the reader in it.

(Name) felt herself under the covers of what seemed to be blankets. Keeping her eyes closed, she listened to her surroundings. Rocking. The uneven rocking of a ship on waves. (Name) deduced that she was on some type of vessel, and slowly opened one eye to study where she was. The boy, she remembered was the last thing she saw before she slept out of exhaustion. After that, nothing was clear. There were some beds, a desk of sorts, and a cabinet that seemed to hold important objects. An infirmary? Making sure no one was in the vicinity, (Name) sat up on the bed, only to hear voices outside the door.

Before she could react, the door burst open with the boy she met before saying, "Ooh! She's up and okay!"

Followed by him was a reindeer on two legs that said, "Oi Luffy! Don't bother my patient! She's still healing!" The talking reindeer then pushed the boy he called Luffy out of the way and approached (Name). (Name) watched the reindeer with cautioned eyes as he grabbed out a strange metal necklace with a round metal piece attached to the bottom and placed it on her chest in the heart area.

"There seem to be no abnormalities, heartbeat, pulse, breathing." The reindeer observed. "Anything painful or uncomfortable?" He asked.

So he's the doctor. (Name) concluded. She shook her head and watched the reindeer's face contort out of surprise.

"Wow. I didn't even need to give much treatment; it's like your injuries just healed by themselves." He stated in awe.

The boy called Luffy then interrupted, "So she's okay, Chopper?"

The reindeer now known as Chopper nodded and added, "Still, try not to strain yourself too much. Those wounds were supposed to be fatal, but I don't think they affected you too much."

(Name) smiled a bit and nodded. She respected doctors with admiration in how they worked and treated people. She remembered the old village doctor and how he always treated people with gentle hands and stayed by their side as long as possible during treatment.

"(Name)." (Name) suddenly said.

"What?" Chopper asked with confusion.

"Name is........ (Name)." She stated awkwardly.

"So your name is (Name), huh?" Luffy grinned. "Do you wanna join my crew?"

(Name) stared at him. "W-what?" She managed to say with difficulty.

"I just said, do you wanna join my crew?" Luffy repeated.

(Name) pondered at his words before realizing what he meant. Oh, he means his ship crew. Giving some thought to his offer, she shook her head in refusal. "No."

Luffy's face fell like a sack of rocks. "B-b-but why?!" he cried.

".......Random.....people.... don't....know... danger.... I.. bring.... others...." (Name) managed to answer.

"What?" Luffy asked confused.

At that moment, a girl with long orange hair walked in, "Luffy, there's a storm setting in, we should probably leave as soon as possible to avoid the storm- Oh! You're awake now! Are you okay?" She said, noticing the girl Luffy carried in unconscious the previous day.

(Name) nodded, and smiled at knowing she was not the only female on this pirate ship.

Luffy patted her on the back saying, "Her name's (Name) she says! I want her to join our crew! But she said no..." He was unaware his back patting was making (Name) uncomfortable until the girl punched him on the head and walked over to (Name).

She gave a reassuring smile and told her, "You don't have to listen to our idiot captain. You should do what you want."

(Name) stared at redhead, unsure whether it was safe. "......" What did she really want? She really yearned for the company of other people. ".....I....want..to...join...but..."

Luffy's face lit up and he bounced up and down. "Yay! We have a new crew member! Zoro brought back a huge boar, so let's have a feast!" He dashed out the infirmary door shouting, "Sanji, feast!"

The girl facepalmed and gave (Name) a pat on the shoulder before informing her, "Our captain's a real pain to deal with at times, but he's a good guy at heart, so bear with him! By the way, my name is Nami." Nami said with a wink before following her captain out the door. That left her and Chopper together.

Chopper finished recording information and told (Name), "I think you're well enough to move around now, but if any other problems occur, be sure to come to me okay?" (Name) smiled and nodded. Effortlessly, she followed Chopper out the door to join the rest of the crew.

Outside on the lawn of the ship, everyone was gathered around for the celebration of a new crew member. A blonde curly eyebrowed man introduced as Sanji (by Chopper) was barbecuing the boar killed yesterday and grabbing a bunch of drinks alike. There was a green haired swordsman named Zoro walking about, drinking a bottle of sake while carrying three swords, a raven-haired woman named Robin that was reading a book on a chair, and a skeleton named Brook that moved, talked, and played music on a violin. This was followed by a strange man with mechanical parts named Franky that transformed parts of his body like a machine, and a long-nosed man called Usopp that was telling stories about his voyages. Luffy was scarfing down cooked meat at an alarming pace and Nami was drinking some juice while watching the others. (Name) along with Chopper went to go get some food before she was stopped by Luffy.

Luffy swallowed the meat he was eating and announced, "This is (Name)! She's our newest crew member!" Everyone cheered (minus Robin, who smiled instead) and held up their mugs.

"Cheers!" They all shouted and started to party. (Name) stood dumbfounded and noticed the woman known as Robin approach her.

"It seems everybody is in high spirits." Robin chuckled. "You should enjoy yourself too, this is a nice friendly crew."

(Name) smiled weakly and stared at her glass of juice. ".....I..think...so..too." She stammered.

Robin raised a brow at her speech. "Oh, do you not know how to speak properly?" (Name) nodded with embarrassment. "I can teach you how to read and write." Robin offered.

A smile grew on (Name)'s face, and she nodded her head. Completely forgetting her doubts before, (Name) followed Robin to the heart of the party.
