Fem!reader! x One Piece (Straw Hat crew)

First let me make this clear: This is my first time writing a fanfiction and I am a really average author! Some of my writing may not make sense.

The story is set after the two year timeskip, right after the Fishman Island Arc and before the Punk Hazard Arc.

Warning: There is some cursing but I tried to keep it to a minimum.

Disclaimer: I do not own the world of cast and characters, Oda Eiichiro (Eiichiro Oda) does; but the story is mine.

This is not a romance oriented fanfiction! There are parts that may hint a character liking another character, but this is not mainly focused on romance, rather it is just a story with the reader in it.

----------------------------------------

"Isn't there anything interesting to do?" Luffy groaned as he laid on his usual spot on the distinctive figurehead of the Thousand Sunny. Sticking his head back, he called, "Hey, Chopper! Do you wanna play with me?"

The small reindeer shook his head then told him, "No Luffy, I'm busy making medicine right now; go bother someone else." At that, Luffy pouted.

Luffy then turned to Usopp who was tinkering with something and asked, "Usopp! What are you doing?"

Usopp turned his head with a large grin on his face before answering, "Oh, you'll see in a few minutes..."

"Really?!" Luffy looked interested again. "Can you show me?"

Usopp shook his head. "It's a surprise!" He said before returning to his tinkering.

Luffy's face went back to its bored look and he decided to go find Nami to see if there were any nearby islands.

As he walked across the deck, he saw Zoro napping in his usual spot, Robin sitting on her chair reading some book, and Brook playing a short song on his violin. Reaching the cabins, Luffy flung open the door shouting, "Nami! Are there any islands nearby?" Startled by the sudden entrance, Nami shrieked before punching him in the head.

"Come in here normally!" She huffed, watching the bump on Luffy's head swell.

"But I'm bored!" Luffy whined.

"Alright, alright." Nami sighed. She brought her left arm with the Log Poses close and studied each Log. Two were spinning around violently, and the one on the bottom left was stable. "Okay, we're going to head for this island-" Nami started before she noticed Luffy looking at the Logs. She then had a sinking feeling and started, "Luffy, we're definitely not going to-"

"Ooh! This one is spinning all over! Alright, set sail immediately as fast as possible!" Luffy declared with a large grin.

"Noooooooooooo.........." Nami fell on her knees and sobbed. "Why did he look at the Logs?!"

Luffy ran through the door and shouted, "Hey! We're gonna head towards an island!"

At the end of his declaration, Sanji poked his head out of the kitchen and Franky appeared from the ship's engine room. Robin closed and set down her book, and Brook simply laughed with his normal, "Yo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!" Chopper looked up with excitement, and Zoro just simply kept snoring, undisturbed.

Nami stood up and sighed again. "Ugh, I should have expected this from our captain." Taking a look at the Log Luffy pointed to, Nami shouted to everyone on deck, "Okay guys! Get into positions! Unfurl the sails!"

Franky and Sanji, shouting "Yes, Nami-swaan!", went to unfurl the sails, Robin just stood and watched, while Brook was laughing his usual "Yo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!" and played his guitar. Luffy stretched his arm and swung himself to his usual seat on top of Sunny's head.

"Someone take the steering wheel!" Nami added as she surveyed the sea around them.

Chopper nodded saying, "Leave it to me!" and steered the ship westward.

Luffy looked toward the direction they were sailing and said excitingly, "Shi-shi-shi-shi! I wonder what adventures await us!"

-------------------------------------

After a few minutes of sailing, the crew could make out the figure of an island in the distance. Luffy jumped up and down like a child. "Ooh! I see the island! Let's land there!"

Nami studied the island with a pair of binoculars. She narrowed her eyes. "That's really strange. There's an ominous black fog around the island, but the sky is completely clear." She shook her head. This is the New World we're talking about. Anything is possible, she thought to herself. Still, she was unable to shake off the feeling something was going to happen.

She looked down from the railing to see everyone gathering around Sanji on the deck and swiftly joined them.

"Okay." Sanji started. "I think we should again just have a few people go with Luffy and a few to guard the ship. Which three people want to join him?"

"Definitely not me!" Chopper, Usopp, and Nami all cried in unison.

Sanji nodded and said, "So that leaves me, Robin-chwaan, Franky, and Brook." Ignoring the green-haired swordsman snoring away at the side, he continued, "So who wants to go with Luffy?"

Franky raised his large cyborg hand before explaining, "I still have some repairs to make on the Sunny from Fishman Island. You guys can go without me," before heading down to the ship's engine room.

Robin giggled quietly, "So I'm with Cook-san and Musician-san."

"Yo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho! That black fog gives me goosebumps. Not that I have any skin cause I'm all bones!" Brook joked.

"I'll protect you, Robin-chwaan!" Sanji declared, resembling something like a tornado as he said that.

"Oi! Hurry up! I wanna explore!" Luffy called on the coast.

"Whoa, when did he get there?" Sanji looked shocked as he descended the ship with Robin and Brook. "Luffy! Don't go off on your own!" He shouted.

"Okay!" He answered. Prior to his words, Luffy was already heading into the thicket of trees and they almost lost him.

"That asshole, he never listens," Sanji muttered.

"Luffy-san is always very energetic; I am a bit envious," Brook admitted. "By the way Robin-san, may I see your panti-"

"No way in hell, you perverted skeleton!" Sanji interrupted with a kick to the head.

Brook laid withered on the floor with a huge bump on his head. "I almost died, but I'm already dead so it doesn't matter, Yo-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!" He laughed before he received another kick in the head.

Robin watched the scene unfold with amusement and reminded them, "Captain-san isn't visible anymore." At her words, Sanji and Brook noticed that Luffy had disappeared into the green trees and they couldn't see him anymore.

"Oh shit, we'd better go find him to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid!" Sanji said before heading off towards the trees. Robin and Brook followed him in the search for Luffy.

                                                                          -----------------------------------

Luffy walked through the mysterious grove of trees, feeling a sense of peace and calm. Sniffing around he said, "Ooh, I smell adventure over there!" and took off in said direction.

After walking a few more minutes, he heard a rustling sound nearby and readied himself for whatever was about to jump out at him. Watching the rustling bush closely, Luffy slowly inched towards it. An abnormally large boar jumped out and almost stampeded him over.

"Reet!" It squealed and scratched the dirt with its hoof, snorting and puffing out breath.

Luffy looked at the large boar, more specifically the stomach area and drooled. "Alright! I'm gonna hunt you down and ask Sanji to cook me a lot of meat!" He resolved before getting ready to use Gear Second/Second Gear. But right before he could activate it he heard a girl's voice saying,

"..Don't.....move...!"

Luffy looked around to try and locate the source of the voice, but before he knew it, he saw lightning fast projectiles of some sort fly straight past his face and strike the boar in the the stomach. Turning around to look at the injured boar, he noticed small details he hadn't seen before. Scars. A lot of scars, scratches, and puncture marks. Some were fresh and still bleeding, but most of them were old and covered most of the boar's body. And he noticed a few white objects sticking out of the newest wounds. Feathers... wait what?! He thought. He rubbed his eyes, not believing what he saw.

Interrupting his thoughts, a few more feathers flew by and struck the boar in multiple areas, including the heart. The boar shrieked until finally the heart stopped and the great beast fell lifeless and cold on the ground.

"I...am..sorry...." Luffy heard the voice from before and saw a young (h/c) haired teen jumping off a nearby tree.

"Who are y-" He started but she walked past him and bent down next to the dead beast. She whispered a prayer of some sort and plucked out the thrown feathers as if to keep the body as neat as possible. He studied her and noticed that there were large spots of crimson staining her shirt, if you could call it a shirt. It looked more like fabric made from the fibers of feathers and plants woven together. But what worried Luffy the most was the red spots that slowly grew and the fact that the girl didn't seem too concerned about the wounds that looked fatal.

The girl turned and looked straight at Luffy with her (e/c) eyes. ".........."

"You're hurt." Luffy broke the silence and pointed to her wounds.

The girl stared at him and replied, "....They'll......heal."

Luffy tilted his head, not understanding what she meant. "What do you mean they'll heal?"

".........Sleep." The girl answered. She then proceeded to lay on the floor and closed her eyes.

Luffy was still worried, and even more so confused, but he didn't want to leave an injured person in the wild alone so he slowly and carefully placed the girl on his back. He ignored the dead boar next to him and carried her towards the ship.

On the way back, he met up with Sanji, Robin, and Brook who were hunting and collecting some provisions for their voyage. As soon as they saw Luffy carrying an unconscious girl that was bleeding, their faces all shifted to worry.

"Luffy, I'll carry her back to the ship to see Chopper." Sanji offered.

Luffy shook his head in refusal and trudged on. "There's a large boar in the woods that she hunted. Can you bring it back to the ship?"

Sanji scratched the back of his head and decided to get a certain muscle-brained idiot to carry it back to the ship. "Shitty moss ball probably won't mind anyway," He said.

--------------------------------------

Chopper stood at the edge of the deck, looking at the island. I wonder if they're okay... he wondered.

Usopp came up behind him and asked, "Are you worried about them?"

Chopper tried but failed to hide his embarrassment while saying, "Who said I was worried about them, you jerk!"

Usopp laughed at that while answering, "You keep looking in their direction with concern though. They'll be fine! They have Sanji and Robin with them. Plus Luffy can mostly take care of himself!"

Chopper nodded. "I know, but my animal instincts are telling me that something strange is going to happen."

Usopp shrugged and said, "With a captain like that, nothing could be that strange. Do you wanna see my latest creati-" He started and stopped when he noticed the others walking back to the ship. "Chopper, look! They're back! See I told you they would be fine!"

"Really?!" Chopper looked over the side to see Luffy, Sanji, Robin, and Brook all returning to the ship. He was smiling until he noticed that Luffy was carrying a girl with red stains on her shirt. Immediately he asked Luffy about the girl.

"Luffy! Is she okay?!" Chopper inquired.

"I don't know! She said she would heal with sleep or something!" Luffy retorted.

Chopper tilted his head slightly in confusion at his words. "Okay! Bring her to the infirmary and lay her on the bed!"

Luffy nodded and Chopper dashed to the infirmary, waiting for Luffy. Outside he heard Zoro and Sanji fighting over something about a boar.

He heard Luffy open the door and watched him carefully place the girl on the bed. As she laid there, Chopper studied her injuries. There were only a few cuts, but appeared to be deep and should have been fatal. These wounds were definitely made by some type of wild animal, possibly the boar that he heard Zoro and Sanji arguing about.

Luffy watched Chopper from the side and asked with concern, "Is she gonna be okay?"

Chopper shook his head. "I don't know. Her wounds appear fatal, but she is still breathing normally. I'll have to keep monitoring her and treat the cuts properly." He made a gesture for Luffy to leave the infirmary. "Sorry Luffy, but could you leave? I need to treat her."

Luffy smiled and said, "Okay." Before he walked out the door, he turned around and faced Chopper. "When she wakes up, I want her to join our crew, so make sure she heals, ok?"

Chopper returned his smile and grabbed his medical equipment as Luffy closed the door.
