Story set after Fishman Island Arc and before Punk Hazard Arc

This is not a romance oriented fanfiction! There are parts that may hint a character liking another character, but this is not mainly focused on romance, rather it is just a story with the reader in it.

"Another tie, how frustrating." (Name) panted after the twentieth match. (Name) and Zoro sparred daily in the crow's nest every morning after breakfast.

"You're not half bad, having ties every single time." Zoro commented. "I am surprised by your strength."

(Name) sighed and said, "Even without a power boost I'm still very strong, but I haven't got any further than a tie. Zoro-san is really strong just as everybody says. Even Luffy-san acknowledges your strength."

Zoro grinned. "Heh, I will be the world's strongest swordsman soon. I have to get stronger to beat him. By the way, I've told you, just 'Zoro' is fine."

"Ah! I promised Brook I'd help him with the lyrics of his new song. See you later at lunch, Zoro-san." (Name) ignored him and climbed down the ropes. She hopped down when she reached the lawn and heard someone say,

"Hey, done sparring against Zoro already?"

"A tie again, Nami-san. Ten against ten." (Name) answered.

"Wow, you've been evenly matched against Zoro every single day. You're amazing!" Nami complimented.

"Thanks, he's really strong, but I'll win one day! Oh yeah, can you tell Brook I'll be a bit late today? I need to take a quick shower."

"Sure!" Nami waved and headed towards the quarterdeck.

After taking a 5 minute shower, (Name) quickly wriggled on a (f/c) T-shirt and shorts. Trusting Nami had delivered her message, (Name) looked around for Brook on the quarterdeck.

Spotting him next to Robin's flowerbed, she called out to him. "Brook! Sorry I'm late! My match against Zoro this morning took slightly longer than usual."

"It's okay, Nami-san already told me," Brook reassured her. "Though being able to fight evenly against Zoro-san is quite a feat! Even I have trouble facing him sometimes."

(Name) grinned at the compliment and took out the script she was working on the night before. "Here, I finished the words for this part, but can you check?" She flipped to the latest page and showed Brook.

Brook scanned the words on the page with intensity before playing a tune on his guitar. "Wonderful! As I thought, you really do have a touch for music!" He danced around with delight laughing, "Yo-ho-ho-ho! Yo-ho-ho-ho!" Settling down, he offered the guitar to (Name). "(Name)-san, would you like to try?"

"Oh! Can I?" (Name) gingerly took the stringed instrument and strummed it the way she watched Brook do it. "I've played a violin and piano before, but a guitar is new to me. Are the notes and positioning the same?" She queried.
