Bethany's POV.
I decided that I would visit my old dance studio today. I started ballet when I was five and I've loved it all my life, it wasn't the kind of thing that other people's parents forced on them or made them work hard to do well in, my mum just let do it for me. I swept my long, blonde hair into a messy bun and put on a pair of black exercise leggings and a simple white top. I slipped on my black Nikes and placed my pointe shoes into my bag along with my shower stuff and a change of clothes. I traipsed down the stairs and went into the kitchen to grab the car keys.
" Are you going out?" My mum asked from her spot at the table. I jumped and turned around, she had a smile on her face.
" God, mum! You almost gave me a heart attack! I'm just going down to the studio, I've missed it. The one in London isn't the same."
She laughed at my reaction and nodded before turning her attention back to the novel in her hands. Both my mum and I were big readers, I loved reading even more than I loved dancing. I left and drove to the studio, it was only a 10 minute drive so I arrived in no time. To my joy, there was absolutely no one else around, so I could do what I wanted. I connected my phone to the Bluetooth speaker I brought and clicked shuffle. As I started to stretch, I heard the words of One Republic's 'Counting Stars' fill the room. Two or three songs later, I switched to my dancing playlist which consisted mostly of slow songs. 'River Flows In You' started to play and I allowed myself to become completely immersed in the music. Before I knew it the song was over and 'Can you hold me?' by NF started.I loved this song and found it so easy to dance to. At the end, I was startled to hear clapping. ' Why do I keep getting frightened today?' I thought to myself. I turned around and a smile came across my features as I recognised the girl clapping. It was Robyn, my old dance partner.
"All these years, and your still as good!" She laughed. I laughed as I ran over and enveloped her in a hug.
" I haven't seen you in over two years, when you were last in London. Way to keep in touch!" I exclaimed, lightly punching her shoulder. She laughed and we chatted for a good 20 minutes.
" What do you say, for old times sake, if we danced together?" I asked her. She nodded in reply and searched through her phone until she found as song we had a routine too. "I'll be disappointed if you don't remember this dance. We practiced this every day for over six months." She said. I immediatly knew what song she was talking about. It was the song that we used for our biggest competition. As the familiar music of Christina Perri's 'The Lonely' filled the room, I fell back into old habits and we both completed the dance without fault. I mean, there was a reason we won. We decided to go out for dinner this evening and then I left to shower and change. When I got back, it was 4:30. Robyn and I were meeting at the restaurant at 7pm, so there was no point in getting ready yet. I went upstairs and picked out some clothes for dinner but it was hard since in the last few days, my stomach had ballooned. I couldn't button my jeans yesterday, but having a very noticeable bump made it all seem so much more real. It was my mum's birthday tomorrow so I wrapped the present I had bought her, save me doing it tomorrow. Then I flopped backwards onto my springy bed. It was only 5:15 and I had nothing to do. I might as well call Dawn. She picked up on the forth ring.
"Hey! Sorry I haven't had a chance to call." I told her.
"It's okay." She laughed. "Hey, umm, Harry called around yesterday." I took a sharp intake of breath.
"What? Did you tell him where I was?" I worried.
" No, I promised you I wouldn't but Eleanor called today and said that Harry came and asked her and Lou the same thing and she told him that you'd talk to him when you came home. Speaking of which, when will that be? I miss you." She explained without pausing for a breath. ' Damn, no way of getting out of not talking to him now' I thought.
" Right, okay. Well, it's Mum's birthday tomorrow so I'm booking a flight this evening for Thursday." I said. Thursday was the day after tomorrow.
"Yay! I can't wait! So, anyhoo, how are you finding being at home?"
" I love it. I went to my old studio today and I met my old dance partner so we're going to dinner this evening. I've spent most of the week with my family and catching up with old friends. And wait 'till you see me! My bump is much more noticeable now." I said while rubbing small circles on it.
" No way!" She exclaimed.
"Yeah. No joke, I couldn't button my jeans yesterday. It's all becoming so real."
" When do you get to find out the gender's? Or are you gonna leave it until the birth?" She questioned.
" Umm, I think I'll find out. If it was just the one, I might have left it until the birth but seeing as it's twins, I think it'll be easier to prepare if I know what's coming. I find out at around 20 weeks, I think."
" I get ya. It's all so exciting!"
I laughed," Yeah, I know. But I can't help but wish Harry and I were still together. At least it would all be easier. Could you text or call him for me? Tell him to come to our flat at around noon on Friday?" I asked her, since I was gonna have to talk to him, I might as well get it over with.
" Only if you're sure. Beth, you still have time for you two to discuss things, don't rush into it now if you're still upset." She said softly.
" I know but what I told him about seeing the baby, before I knew there was babies, was really mean and I feel bad about it. I'm not forgiving him, no way, but we still have to discuss things." I sighed
" Okay. I'll text him now. I best be going. I'll let you know what he says, Bye B."
" Bye Dawn." I hung up the phone and looked at the time. It was 5:50. I might as well start getting ready, the restaurant was a twenty minute drive. I straightened my hair and put it into a fishtail plait. I put on the loose, light pink blouse and a pair of slightly faded jeans that just about fit my growing bump. Looking at me now, you would call me stupid for not knowing I was pregnant until 2 weeks ago and I feel stupid too. I put on some makeup but nothing special, only foundation, concealer, mascara and powder. And I obviously filled in my eyebrows along with some nude pink lipstick. I slid on a pair of white T-bar sandals and put my phone, wallet, lipstick, etc. into my white handbag. I checked the time, 6:25. Not too bad. I went downstairs and told my mum that I had met Robyn and was going out for dinner incase she was looking for me and then I left.
