Bethany's POV.
I looked at the sonogram I had just received, I found a small clinic not too far away from my flat and decided to go for a check up incase my fall two days caused harm to the babies and luckily they were okay. It seems that my hypertension seemed to have calmed down and my blood pressure was normal. I guess it was to do with stress. I smiled at the grainy image once more before I put it back into my handbag.

I walked by a quirky looking cafe and noticed it had a 'HIRING' sign in the window. I shrugged to myself and said i might as well give it a shot. I was dressed very casually in a grey sweatshirt, black leggings and a cream snood as job hunting was more tomorrow's plan than todays. I walked in and a little bell tinkled aleting the staff and customers to my presence. I returned the polite smiles I was given as I walked up to the man at the register.
"Hi, I'm B-Tara and I was hoping to apply for the job your advertising?" I asked as professionally as I could manage, hoping that he didn't notice that I almost gave him the wrong name, my old name.
His face lit up, " Of course! I was beginning to think we wouldn't get anyone, let me bring you back to the manager." He started walking towards the room across from the kitchen area and gestured for me to follow.

I tighened my ponytail and took a deep breath as he knocked and poked his head into the office. After a few words with the manager, he turned around, "You can go in. Good luck! My names Tommy, by the way."
"Thank you, Tommy" I smiled at him which he returned. This guys hasn't stopped smiling since I met him.
He held the door open as I walked in. A woman only a year or two older than me was standing behind a cluttered desk.
" Hello, I'm Claudia, the manager here at Chai & Pie Café. I hear your interested our open position?" She asked while sticking out her hand for me to shake. I shook it firmly as i replied, "Nice to meet you, I'm Tara . And yes, I'd love to apply."
"I'm glad to hear that. Lucky for you Tara, we've only had a few people looking for it but they weren't suitable. I'm really hope you will be, you look promising. Let's get on with it, then!" And she took her seat and gestured for me to do the same. I followed suit and she started asking my basic interview questions.

After what I reckoned my little over half an hour, we were finishing up.
" Oh, I almost forgot to mention that at the moment we're only able to offer you a six month contracrlt at the moment because it's just as cover for maternity leave. I'm sorry I almost forgot, is that alright? If not, I understand." Claudia said before she stood up.
" Actually, I recently found out I'm pregnant too a few weeks okay so I'd only be available for another six months anyways so it suits me perfectly. I hope you can still hire me, I feel bad for not telling you earlier but I didn't want to ruin any chances I had. I hope I haven't now." I confessed.
To my surprise, Claudia smiled, " Of course, I'll still hire you. I'm not the type of person who discriminates and I know how hard it can be to find work when you're pregnant, I was pregnant when I was young and no one would hire me until I found this place. And now I'm the manager and I have beautifully happy and healthy son. Congratulations! When are you able to start?"

I beamed as i left the café, I was starting in three days and the pay wasn't bad so I can pay my rent and future hospital bills. I ran into Ed as i was walking up my street.
"Hey Tara, All good?" He called.
" Brilliant, Ed! Really, really good!" I exclaimed.
" Woah, good day so far?" He chuckled at me.
" How'd you guess? I got a job actually and I had an appointment too and everythings going great. I'm settling in well, if I may say so." I reaveled to him, the smile on my face only growing bigger as I heard the words.
" You're right, that is brilliant. We should celebrate. How does dinner sound?"
I blushed and bit my lip, " Sure, what time?"
He smiled at my sudden shyness, "How does 7 suit?"
I looked up into his eyes, " It suits perfectly."
His toothy smile grew at my reply, " I'll pick you up then. It's a date." He winked and slid into his car before driving away, leaving me blushing outside his apartment. I had three and a half hours to get ready and i didn't know what I was going to wear or if I even had something suitable. I took out my phone and started tapping Eleanor's number and i was about to press dial until I remembered. My entire mood deflated like a burst balloon as I remembered everything that I had somehow managed to block out. I put my phone back into my handbag and turned around to go to my flat. I trued to shaje the sudden dark cloud that had appeared. I was determined to forget about everything until the day was over and I had time to find a way to deal with everything.
