When I awoke the next morning I sat up slowly and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes to find that Kito wasn't in the room next to me.
Stretching I grabbed onto the frame of the bed and hauled my weight onto the bed sloppily.
Listening closely I was able to distinguish 80s music play from the bathroom. A muffled voice singing a long to it.
I giggled as I realized that it had to of been Kito in there singing his heart out to whatever song it was.
"Kito!" I called, making my voice sound distressed and urgent.
I heard a thump and a fall that was followed by a loud crash as Kito said some choice words before peeking his head out of the bathroom door and looking at me breathing rapidly.
"Are... You... Okay... Mariya? You... Seemed... Distressed..." He breathed out.
"Yeah I'm fine, just wanted to see how long it would take for you to respond to me. You passed, but why are you so out of breathe?" I asked snickering to myself quietly.
"I'm out of breathe because of you, you nub!" He teased closing the door and resuming his shower in peace.
"Calling your girlfriend a nub isn't very nice mister!" I yelled back in a teasing manner just as Kito's mother stepped into the room with a tray in her hands.
I turned my full attention towards her and she gave me a small smile. "I didn't want you to trouble yourself with going up and down stairs all the time, so I brought breakfast to you this morning," she said kindly setting the tray on my lap carefully.
"Thank you Mrs. Ramano," I said gratefully, "It means so much to me. Kito may have to be in charge of my stair crisis for now," I sighed while biting my lip.
"It's no problem deary, any guest is a welcome guest. Now please, eat up!" She smiled more brightly this time before leaving me to my breakfast.
Looking down at the tray it consisted of pancakes with butter and syrup, a glass of apple juice, and a small bowl of fruit. I smiled and grabbed the fork starting to dig into the delicious breakfast.
As I ate Kito emerged from the bathroom with a towel around his waist. He gave one look at me before walking quickly into the closet and closing the door behind him with a blush.
I shrugged, opened up the curtains more, and continued to eat my breakfast. Kito came back out of the closet in black jeans and a random graphic t-shirt.
"Kito?"
"Yeah?" He asked sliding next to me on the bed.
"You came out of the closet!" I yelled and started to laugh at my own stupid joke.
"Hard e har har, very funny Mariya," he said poking my stomach. "Now do you need me to call one of the maids to help you bath and dress? I heard they found some clothes for you to wear."
"Yeah, I do need help," I admitted sadly.
"Okay, I'll go find Rose to help you ou-" Kito was cut off by the door opening with a loud slam that made me wince. A tall thin lady stood at the door with towels and clothes in hand.
"You must be Rose! I'm Mariya, it's nice to meet you," I said shyly as she walked over to me, her shoes making a nice little sound.
With a flick of her hand she pushed her light pink hair over her shoulder and smiled at me.
"It's nice to meet you too deary, now if you're all done with breakfast I'll escort you to the bath and get you dressed for the day," she said sweetly while taking my hand.
"Yes, that would be lovely Rose!" I squealed with excitement.
"Alright," she picked me up, still holding onto the towels and clothes mind you, and wisked me away into the luxurious bathroom.
Setting me down on a stool she helped me escape from the nightgown and unbraid my hair.
"How would you feel about a slight trim to your hair Miss Mariya? I promise only to cut an inch, I'll make a maid's promise!" She teased.
"Well," I said, "why not? I'm up for a little change."
Rose smiled and checked the bath water to test the warmth. "It's all ready! Go ahead and slid in deary."
I made my way into the warm water and dunked my hair into it. Rose set down a short stool next to the tub and started to wash my hair.
After my bath she dried me off with a fluffy towel and wrapped it around me.
"So, I have a floral dress with a bow on the back, frilly socks, Mary Janes, and your shawl."
"Sounds delightful Rose!" I squealed as she pinned my hair up in a nice flower bun. I bit my lip in excitement and slipped on all the clothes except for the stockings and shoes of course.
Rose left for a minute and came back in with my 'special' crutches. I stood up and swung my way back into the bedroom to show off my new look to Kito.
Kito smiled brightly at me as I sat down next to him on the bed.
"You look gorgeous Mariya, like you're ready to go to a gala!" He chuckled taking my hand in his. "So are you ready for today?"
I nodded my head quickly. "Definitely!" I giggled back and blushed.
