Prolouge

  Hi my name is Rosalyn but people call me Rose, summer brake just started and I'm going to visit my mommy. Daddy won't tell me where we are so I just watch the trees and mountains go by. Where we are is really pretty at night you can see lots of stars.

"Rose wake up were here," whispered daddy while gently shaking me awake

I yawned as I woke up. "Daddy where are we?"

"Sweetheart you know I can't tell you." Said Daddy

"But you will tell me when I'm older, right?" I said

"Yes, now look out your window."

"Ok" I said as I turned to look out my window. What I saw was beautiful. "Wow that's so pretty can I go play in the stream? Please can I can I can I." I pleaded with my dad

"Maybe in the morning" he said

"Ok" I said as I pouted

"Come on you can help me bring our stuff in" said my dad

"Ok" I said as I turned around to see the house "Wow it's ginormous."

"Yes it is can you guess what type of house it is."

"Ummm a big one." I said while spreading my arms out as far as I can.

Daddy chuckled and said "It is that but, it's called a mansion."

"Why?" I asked

"I don't know"

"Ok" I said as I yawned

I grabbed my toy bag and brought it to the door, then rang the doorbell. It looked like the door opened by magic until I saw a shadowy figure walk forward.

"Come this way. I will take your bags to your room," said the shadow man.

"Ok" I said as I grabbed daddy and dragged him inside the house

"Hi sweetheart" said my mom happily as she spread her arms out to give me a hug

"Mommy!" I yelled excitedly while running up to her and jumping into her arms "I missed you soooo much"

"I missed you too. Look at how big you've gotten. How old are you now?" She replies as she puts me down.

" You know I'm five mommy" I said while holding up 5 fingers

"Yes I know, I was just checking to see if you knew."

"Mommy who was the shadow man that opened the door?" I asked

"Oh, I see you met Alfred. He is my shadow butler." Replied mommy

"What's a shadow butler?" I inquired

"I will tell you when you're older, ok my little kitten." Said mommy

"Okay" I grumbled

"Ok then let me show you your room Rosy" replied mommy

"Ok" I said as I skipped sleepily after mommy

I was happy when we got to my room. I changed and ready for bed.
Mommy sang me the lullaby that she sings for me at bedtime. Then said "Good night sweetheart, sweet dreams, I'll see you in the morning."

"Nigh nigh" I replied while yawning
(Night night)

I woke up the next morning excited, cause I get to see mommy every day. I got up and ran down stairs. When I got to the kitchen I saw mommy cooking breakfast.

"Can I help pleeease mommy please" I pleaded

"Sure, can you get the eggs, bacon, a bowl and and a fork?" Replied mommy

"Yeees" I said while nodding my head really fast

I ran to the fridge and grabbed the eggs and bacon, then I ran to the cabinet to get a bowl and fork.

"Done" I yelled excitedly while grinning

"Good job, now can you pass me the bacon?" Asked mommy

When I started passing mommy the bacon she said "ok so grab 6 eggs, one at a time. Then put them on the counter lightly. Good."

I did what mommy said and didn't break or drop any eggs. "Ok great job. Now crack the egg lightly, like this, good..." The whole morning was like that. My mom teaching me to cook and us playing all day, but things happen and they change people. That summer was 10 years ago. After that summer my life was never the same.
