Silent space (an MLP fanfic)

Chapter 20

The Ice Skidders screamed along the streets as there was a total of three of them, each of them having their own assortment of weapons. The lead one, with Solar, Turbosky, and Steeltix, had a chaingun mounted on it that Solar was manning currently. The middle one had Widit, Fireblaze, and Eclipse and it had two machineguns mounted on it that both Fireblaze and Eclipse were manning. And lastly, as the caboose, there was Moonblossom, Minty, and Alec as it had a missile pod on its back and as Alec drove the vehicle, Minty and Moonblossom tried to keep the spare rockets around the pod from rolling out or exploding the vehicle.

The convoy turned a corner and as they suddenly got onto a freeway that was in the middle of Groatian Rock, Steeltrix said over the radio as he was riding shotgun to Turbosky, "Looks like the Unitologists have been pushing our buddies at the south gate farther back.. be on the lookout for trouble and shoot only when you have a clear shot.. don't waste the ammo."

Solar racked the slide of the chaingun as he kept the turret looking all over and as they continued along the freeway, all Turbosky was thankful for was that it was clear of all vehicles.

Suddenly, there was the roar of a plasma engine and as they all looked up, they watched as a dropship with a symbol of the Church of Unitology appeared above them and as the three Ice Skidders continued down the freeway, suddenly Minty and Moonblossom fired the rocket pod from their Ice Skidder and as the missiles screamed through the air, the dropship that was trying to deploy an Ice Skidder had its rear end completely exploded and as it began to careen away from the freeway, Minty and Moonblossom quickly reloaded the missile pod as best as they could.

But as Widit suddenly pulled back to be the caboose and keep Minty and Moonblossom in the middle, suddenly two more Unitologist dropships with Ice Skidders came down as they dropped off the Ice Skidders on the freeway and as Eclipse and Fireblaze swung their machineguns around to face behind them, they racked the slides back as they began to fire at the two enemy skidders now pursuing them.

Tracers ripped by the Ice Skidders as both deployed four Unitology ponies each from their backs and as the Unitology ponies began to fire back with assault rifles and machine guns of their own, Eclipse and Fireblaze continued to depress the triggers to their heavy machineguns as spent shell casings fell all around them and amongst the many containers of spare ammo that were also around.

One of the heavy machineguns made one of the Ice Skidders engines bow up and as the left half of the first Ice Skidder began to become engulfed into flames and as Unitologist ponies shouted and screamed as they tried to escape the flames, Fireblaze and Eclipse both fired together as their shots suddenly shredded up the ponies on the Ice Skidder just as they aimed it towards the reinforced windshield.

Glass shattered before blood could be seen splattering out of the vehicle and as it careened away, the second one came forward still as its Unitology ponies continued to fire at Eclipse and Fireblaze and as they both ducked, suddenly Solar said over the radio, "Alright time for me to go into it! Widit! Swtich places with Turbosky!"

Widit accelerated as Turbosky dropped back and as Solar aimed the chaingun behind them, it began to wind up as then, just as they reached the back, it let loose a withering storm of rounds from its magnetized barrel as the rounds tore gaping rents all over the Unitology ice Skidder before it just spontaneously exploded into a ball of fire.

As Solar blew away the thin trail of smoke from his chainguns barrel, he then said to the others, "Well... that didn't seem to bad..."

"Gunships! 12 o'clock!" shouted Widit and the Ice Skidders swerved as missile screamed and slammed into the freeway as concrete and cars were tossed into the air from the explosions as three gunships appeared while two Ice Skidders began a pursuit.
