Silent space (an MLP fanfic)

Chapter 18

Ever since what Solar said, it had unnerved everypony in the group still alive. Eventually, the one guard gave up on fiddling with the radio and tossed it away and as he looked around, he said to everypony, "Alright... time to finally finish this mission, I guess.. maybe after we complete it, we can leave this place and go back to base."

Everypony nodded and as they all grabbed what few supplies were around to take with them, they took up their weapons and began to walk away from the checkpoint.

"The hive should be in the sublevels, where they have the underground trams..." said one of the guards as they kept their pulse rifle up.

"Weren't we in the sublevels before? When we crashed?" asked Minty.

"Well those were part of it... but the Hive is further away from there so we would have had to gallop for maybe half a day to just arrive at the hive... besides, the tramways are confusing and twisting... easy ambush spots." said the pony as they continued to go down the road.

No pony argued the logic as they all kept their weapons up towards the surrounding buildings as they trotted straight down the slums road as they hoped this didn't take too long.

But just as they had reached an intersection, suddenly, several necromorphs came rushing from their hiding spots as they roared and everypony stopped and fired their weapons as pulse rifle shots, plasma cutters, and Turbosky's plasma disruptor took down three before Moonblossom was stabbed in her flank and she screamed as Minty killed off the creature before putting one of the last medkits she had created into Moonblossom. Moonblossoms's RIG meter went from being yellow back to blue and as she got up, one of the guards suddenly was torn apart just as Solar ripped apart the thing with his pulse rifle and as the guard ponies body slumped tot he ground, the guard ponies number were whittling down fast.

Steeltrix dismembered the last necromorph and as he looked around, he said to them all, "We gotta keep moving... these things are getting bolder... and more persistent..."

Everypony nodded as they continued to trot towards where the one guard said the hive was.

The Groatian Rebel guards heard the vehicles coming towards the southern gate of Gryphon Rock and were about to open the doors when they heard the scream of missile and began to shout and scream as they tried to gallop away but the gates exploded into fire and metal as the guards were scythed down and as Unitologist ponies began to drive in on their Ice Skidders into the city, more Groatian Rebels and Equestrian soldiers began to run towards the breach to intercept them.

Pulse rifles fired as their rounds crisscrossed between and as more Unitologist ponies began to unload from their vehicles and advance into Gryphon Rock, Trixie appeared as she shouted, "Kill the unbelievers!! Kill them all!!"

The explosions could be heard as Steeltrix looked behind them towards the smoke and flame coming from miles away, at the south gate, and he knew what was likely happening now. He looked back at the others of his ponies as he said, "Looks like we have some uninvited guests breaking in! We gotta hurry!"

All of the other ponies nodded as then a bunch more Necromorphs began to charge them. One of them spat a glob of acid at the group and as Fire blaze dodged it, he fired a stream of pulse rifle at it as his bullets first took off its head and then take off it left foreleg before taking off a hind leg.

Eclipse fired his pulse rifle just as one of the things galloped at him and he tried to dodge but suddenly it lunged and leapt at him and he screamed as it pinned him tot he ground, slashing his chest as his RIG meter began to go from blue to red really quickly and just as it raised one of its blades, suddenly Solar fired at it and tore it apart as he was quick to run over and grab Eclipse before putting him over his back before shouting, "Come on!! Lets get going!!"
