Chapter 10: A "Normal" Day

DAMON'S POV

I wonder of my new powers have arrived. I mean, Nykki and I just started dating and she has a new power, I ponder as I hold Nykki, playing with her hair. It is amazing that just yesterday she was a stranger and now she is the love of my life. Thank god for NeverAgain. I would have never really visited Aunt Mary and paid attention to the girl next door. That crafty raccoon helped too. I wish she would not have tried to protect me. I want to show her the man I am, and I will not be a coward that hides behind his girlfriend. I feel Rings crawl on my shoulder sniffing me, probably wondering who I am and why am I holding his mom.  

"Hey handsome," Nykki coos the crazy critter. All he does is chatter his teeth in response and hides in her hair. "You know that you are going to have to get use to each other. I am not picking in between my boys understood," Nykki informs me. Oh lord, I love hearing her voice. I could never tire of it. "Let's hope we have a normal day," she tells me. 

"Knowing us that will never happen," I toss back grinning at my angel. 

Some girl floated up through the floor, "Hey, Nykki! How have you been girly?" 

"Hey Tora! I have been great! This is my wonderful mate Damon," My angel spoke to the stranger. All the girl did was stare.  

"Ummm....... Bye," Tora spoke.

NYKKI'S POV

I love being in Damon's arms. I could be held here all day. My baby, Rings, is being a cuddly angel. The fact he is getting use to Damon makes me smile. I love that I met my mate on NeverAgain. I knew him before we met even in person. "Hey handsome," I cooed my little baby. All he does is chatter his teeth in response and hides in my hair. "You know that you are going to have to get use to each other. I am not picking in between my boys understood," I told them, "Let's hope we have a normal day." 

"Knowing us that will never happen," He voices. 

Of course, Tora decides to float up thought the floor from the basement, "Hey, Nykki! How have you been girly?" 

"Hey Tora! I have been great! This is my wonderful mate Damon," I told Tora smiling. 

"Ummm....... Bye," Tora spoke. She must have felt awkward knowing that I found my mate before her. I do hope she finds her mate. They are the greatest feeling in the world.  

"Why don't we go get some icecream," I ask my wonderful mate. 

"I'm sure Rings wants to come too. I can hear his chattering in my ear,"He laughed. All I could do is giggle in response. Off to Alice's Icecream Shop we went. 

"Hey Ally! How are ya?" I ask the owner of the shop.  

"I'm great Nykki. How is the little rascal?" She inquires, then Rings poked his head out and clicked hi to the short, red headed woman.  

"How is that for an answer?" I chuckled. 

"A very good one," is all she could reply, "Who is this stranger?" 

"This is my boyfriend, Damon," I smiled. 

"Hello ma'am," Damon spoke curtiously. 

"Ally, can we get a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, a Butter Pecan for Rings and a ............" I trailed off wondering what Damon wanted.  

"And a Rockie Road, please," Damon finished.  

"I didn't take u for a marshmallow and almond kinda of guy," I retorted. 

"You will learn plenty more about me soon," He spoke huskily in my ear. 

"So........ Will that be it?" Ally wondered. 

"Yea," I blushed. 

"That will be $3.27," She replied. I went to reach for my wallet, but Damon stopped me. 

"I'm paying," he practically demanded. 

"Ok," was all I left it at. Ally rushed to fill our order as soon as possible after drooling at my man. Now only of looks could kill.

DAMON'S POV

"Why don't we go get some icecream," Nykki asked me. 

"I'm sure Rings wants to come too. I can hear his chattering in my ear,"I laughed seeing as the raccoon would not stop, then off to a place called Alice's Icecream Shop we went. 

"Hey Ally! How are ya?" Nykki called. It seems she knows everyone. 

"I'm great Nykki. How is the little rascal?" She inquires, then Rings poked his head out and clicked hi to the short, red headed woman.  

"How is that for an answer?" Nykki giggled. 

"A very good one," is all she (I'm guessing her name is Ally) could reply, "Who is this stranger?" 

"This is my boyfriend, Damon," my mate declared. 

"Hello ma'am," I spoke to be friendly. 

"Ally, can we get a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, a Butter Pecan for Rings and a ............" Nykki trailed off probably curious about what my favorite flavor is. 

"And a Rockie Road, please," I fill in seeing the furrowed brows on my mate. 

"I didn't take u for a marshmallow and almond kinda of guy," Nykki called out. 

"You will learn plenty more about me soon," I hauntly tell my mate. 

"So........ Will that be it?" Ally wondered. 

"Yea," My mate practically whispered. 

"That will be $3.27," She told us. I saw Nykki reach for her wallet to pay and gentle stop her. 

"I'm paying," I told her with a no nonsense tone in my voice. 

"Ok," was all she said.
