The Dark Gate (Nalu Fanfic)

The attack

Lucy's Pov:

Master and I were still running towards the guild. The wind blew my hair into my face causing me to stumble. I arose back to my feet and dashed towards the guild doors. Master told me the guilds name 'Death's Head Caucus' they were planning to assassinate every member of Fairy Tail.

As we reached the doors, master and I burst through. Everyone turned round, their mouths dropping at the sight of master. "MASTER!" Everyone ran to hug him whilst I pulled out my keys, Loke and Gemini while facing the door. Master pushed them away after a brief hug. "Children, we are being targeted, I'll explain where I have been later however first we must protect the guild, protect eachother." Natsu looked at me, I was stood gazing at the door, grasping two powerful keys. "Lucy are you okay?" I turned for a brief moment taking in Natsu's features. Before I was blown to the floor surrounded by rubble.

Natsu's Pov:

A massive explosion took off the entire front wall of the guild, causing a massive amount of rubble to fly around the guild. I looked up after being thrown by the impact. Everyone seemed to be okay. I saw Lucy laying on the floor. "Natsu, help me get out!" The dark guilds members charged towards us all. I barely had time to pull Lucy out of the rubble. I threw brick after brick uncovering Lucy. Still keys in hand she emerged from the rubble summoning Loke and Gemini. I lit my fists, it was time to fight.

Master could not fight, he was covered in wounds yet he still tried. The opposite guilds master jumped to the floor, there was no way Gramps could fight him in his condition. Lucy and I both charged towards him "Roar of the fire dragon!" My fire blew towards him barely even scratching him. He didn't even bother to dodge. Loke landed a regulus punch on him, he was pushed back a mere couple of steps however you could tell it did a bit of damage. I heard his breathing slightly increase.

Another couple of experienced mages attacked Lucy and I to keep us off their master. It worked as both our masters stood face to face. "Why did you interfere with Zeref's plan Makarov? It was a very stupid idea for yourself and your guild." Masters look turned to a death glare. "Don't involve my children in your disgusting schemes!" The dark guild master filled his hand with dark purple magic and aimed towards Gramps, knocking him into the wall. He didn't have enough magic to block or attack the other master. Gramps closed his eyes as his limp body fell to the floor.

Lucy's eyes widened as she turned to see master laying limp on the floor before screaming "MASTER!" She grasped Gemini's hand before chanting a powerful spell. "Urano Metria!" A giant light engulfed the guild hall, it blinded me temporarily. When I blinked again Lucy was panting on the floor and the dark master was injured on the floor. The dark master got to his feet using his dark purple magic to injure Lucy. He shot powerful energy beams in her direction on the floor causing an explosion on impact. I ran towards her "LUCY!" I blocked the next shot he fired, he was still pretty injured. It wasn't going to take much to finish him. Using my secret dragon slayer art I threw him out the guild doors rolling down the hill the guild stood on. His clothes smoking.

After that the dark guild retreated. Many of us had minor injuries but Lucy and Master were the only one that was targeted by the dark guilds master and experienced mages. I rushed to her side pulling her into my arms and placing her in the infirmary on the bed next to master. I stood next to her bed and watched her relax. I ran my hands through her beautiful golden locks.

I left the infirmary late in the evening however I went to grab a drink before I left. I have been stressing a lot lately. Lucy had awoken by the time I went to kiss her goodnight. She was talking to master, I stood at the door listening in. "Master, I want to tell him but I can't, I don't think he will take it well." Master turned to face her. "You have to tell him Lucy, Natsu deserves to know." My mind went wild with the possible solutions til one made my body shiver. Is she cheating on me..? No! She wouldn't.. Would she? A tear rolled down my cheek before I sprinted out the guild doors. "Oi, Flame-Brain where you going?" I ignored his question. I sprinted straight back home.

When I reached the room we shared I couldn't stop crying. I was so angry, rage took over as I smashed the picture of us beside my bed. Reedus drew such a nice picture, sad that she doesn't love me anymore. As the glass shattered I cut my hand and I had to grab my first aid kit. Whilst wrapping my hand I realised I over reacted. What if she wasn't cheating? I'm such an idiot!

Later that day she returned home. Sprinting straight through the door and running to the bathroom all I could hear was her throwing up. I hid in the kitchen my eyes still filled with tears. Well I thought I was hidden until she came to grab a glass of water. "He..y Natsu what's wrong?" I couldn't even look at her. I ran to the bedroom and locked the door. I only let down my guard around her, nobody else could see me like this. After unlocking the door she walked in to see our photo smashed on the floor, a broken desk and me crying on the bed.

She came up and tried to comfort me but I pushed her away. "Natsu...?" She said with a tear running down her face. "Why did you cheat Lucy? I thought you loved me!" I turned with a bright red face. "WHAT! I haven't done anything." My face scrunched. "But I heard you talking to master, you couldn't tell me!" Lucy's face turned to despair "I haven't cheated Natsu." My mouth dropped. "Then what Lucy!" She looked to the floor. "I'm pregnant..." Oh my god, what have I done! "Lucy I'm so so sorry." She just turned in the other direction tears dropping to the floor. "I know Natsu."

The rest of the night I cried more then I ever have. All that was going through my head 'I'm having a child, I upset Lucy' over and over again. I couldn't get to sleep. I emerged from the bedroom to see her laid on the sofa, Happy cuddling up to her to support her. She was shivering, she had no blanket and the window was open. I carried her to our bed, covering her in the warm blankets and placing Happy next to her. I placed my hand on her stomach "I'm having a child?" I whispered to myself. I don't think I'm ready, I don't know much about parenting. I was raised by a dragon! Lucy and I would look after him/her together. I will always stand by her. But me a father? Then for the rest of the night I worked to fix the desk and picture frame that I broke in anger.
