The Dark Gate (Nalu Fanfic)

Natsu's Pov:
My recent hunts in the nearby towns have all come up blank and last I checked at the guild nobody else's searches had come out well either. I have been thinking this for a while but Princess Hisui knew quite a lot about dark guild happenings. Maybe she can help me. We have been searching for about a week now. But nothing! It's so frustrating.

"Happy we have been flying for hours." Happy looked down at my complaining. "I'm tired Natsu, I want fish!" I couldn't help but smile. "When we get there I'm sure the princess will have some." Happy continued flying with a grin on his face, slightly drooling. He was definitely thinking about fish. When wasn't he thinking about fish really. There is Mercurius in the distance, Lucy really wanted to get a good look round the castle but last time she was killed or nearly killed I guess. It still gives me nightmares. I'll have to take her here on a holiday, hopefully a romantic holiday. I found myself grinning. Hopefully she will have forgotten about that incident by then.

A couple of days after that incident she was shaking from a nightmare she had but I laid next to her with my arm sound her waist and she seemed comforted. I hope we can cuddle more when I make her mine.

Mira's Pov:

It's been a while now and we still have nothing, not even a lead. The other guilds have been very helpful, Yukino has been over everyday to check if we have any info. Sting and Yukino always walked in with their hands intertwined. I never saw it as a ship but now that I know they're together I ship it so much. I guess I can be the other guilds match maker too. The only one left out searching now is Natsu. Everyone else is at the guild going over the only info we have and possible ideas to find more info.

Last I heard Natsu was going to find Princess Hisui, after that I have no idea on another way to gain information about Lucy. I think Natsu got smarter when he left. I miss Lucy so much. It's funny because I have Michelle on the  bar side watching everyone try to find Lucy. I loved Michelle when she was here but alas some things just can't last however at least now she can at least watch everyone try to find her sister.

Happy's Pov:

"Happy place me at the castle gates" Natsu said looking up at me. " Aye sir!" I flew down beside the gates as Natsu knocked politely, politely I didn't know Natsu could be polite. Some guards walk to the gate to answer our call. One of them being Arcadios. He had a concerned look on his face. "You only come when there is trouble, I will take you to the Princess for a personal meeting, that is what you want, am I correct?" Natsu nodded in response as we followed Arcadios through the gates and into the palace.

The palace reminded me of Lucy's death, especially when we walked down the same familiar corridor. Natsu's eyes stared at the ground, I knew this was going to happen. I gently placed myself on his shoulder and cuddled into his neck. He was always warm.

We reached Princess Hisui's room and waited for her to invite us in. She turned round with a confused look as she watched us enter. We sat across from her. "Natsu, Happy it's a pleasure to see you." Natsu smiled up at her. "It's a pleasure to see you too but the reason we are here is urgent business." Princess Hisui looked at us with a smile. "I am aware of your search for information on dark guilds and crime around Fiore may I ask why?" Natsu looked at her, I wonder how she knows but I won't ask. "Lucy has been missing for 3 months now."
Hisui's eyes widened. I'm confused what's so shocking about 3 months. Maybes that's how long it's been since she brushed her teeth, hehehe. They heard me snicker but I just turned away like nothing happened. "Is there something you mean to tell us princess?"  She looked at Natsu then averted her gaze to the floor.

Natsu's Pov:

Oh no. Why is she upset? I'm like trembling at the thought of what may have happened to Lucy. "4 months ago a book was found and brought to the kingdom. It spoke of another gate similar to the eclipse gate but instead of transcending time, it was known to transcend dimensions." Mine and Happy's eyes widened at the statement. "You think this is why Lucy is missing?" The princess looked up again, Arcadios standing behind her one hand on her shoulder to support her. "The book was stolen shortly after but I read some contents of the book. The gate is powered by life itself, it needs a strong living host, the gate takes around 4 months to activate, so we don't have much time." Princess Hisui looked me straight in the eyes making a shiver run down my spine. "The activation process will kill Lucy right at the end if it is her or if it is another, the longer she is placed in this machine the more pain she is going through."

Who could do such a vile thing? If Lucy really
is in this machine then I need to get to her. "My guards followed the thiefs all the way to the boundary forest, I'd begin my search there."  I looked up in glee, finally a lead. "Thank you so much princess." She grabbed my wrist. "Get her out of that machine Natsu, the purpose of that machine is to bring hell here, turn everything into darkness. It's name being The Dark Gate. If it kills Lucy, what the portal brings will slowly kill the rest of us. Don't go at it alone!" I nodded in agreement 'The Dark Gate' it kept going through my head, if this is worse then the eclipse gate then there is no time to waste, I need to save her, I need to make up for leaving her.

Happy and I began to make our way back to the guild. Happy complained all the way back at the castles lack of fish. I did promise him and forgot to ask but he knows this is important. "Happy when we get back, you can have all the fish you want." Happy then flew in silence smiling to himself. Eventually we made it back to the guild. I wonder how they will take the news about The Dark Gate?
