DYLANS POV

When I got home I went straight to my room. My mom wasn't home; she works her butt off everyday. I sat on my bed unfolding my geography book trying to find out about earthquakes and volcanos. After about half an hour trying to learn something my phone rang, I picked it up from my nightstand.

"HI" my best friend Audrey practically yelled

"hey" I smiled to myself, she has been my best friend since kindergarten, I love her so much

"so, I was thinking about a movie tonight? It has been so long since we were together!" she said

"yeah, sounds great A" I said, smiling to myself. Right now, a movie doesn't sound bad, and I really needed to get out some more

"8?" she asked, I nodded "yes, see you there" I said

"bye Dan" she said hanging up

Dan is the most awful nickname you could get, but Audrey thinks it's funny teasing me by calling me it.

I started to read some more, this time a book of my own; Romeo and Juliet, I love this book. By the way we're playing Romeo and Juliet at the drama club. We start rehearsing tomorrow. Can't wait.

I felt my eyelids shutting and then everything went black.

I woke up to the front door shutting.

"I'm home honey" my mom yelled, I looked at the time, 6:30 pm, thank god I didn't sleep some more.

I ran down the stairs to the kitchen to see my mom holding two bags of groceries, I took one of them and put it on the counter to start unpacking the groceries.

"I'm making spaghetti Bolognese for dinner" my mom said, slowly picking up the other heavy bag, a slight grunt leaving her mouth as she dumped the bag on the counter.

"so are you up for anything tonight?" she said starting to boil the water, "yeah, I'm going to see a movie with Audrey" I said, she nodded "that sounds fun, when is it?" she started to put tomato sauce in a pan "at 8" I said starting to walk up the stairs.

- Skipping dinner –

"mom I'm going" I shouted as I walked out the door and over to my car, movie theater here I come.

The lights lit up the black letters, that showed what movie was playing at the moment. As I got out of my car I examined the people standing outside the theater, jocks, cheerleaders including my best friend. I embraced my cardigan as I was walking towards Audrey, nervousness taking over my body as I saw that she was standing with the cool kids. My satchel hanging from my shoulders, my oversize lilac sweater, my levis jeans and my chuck taylors made me feel like I wasn't dressed to the occasion. I adjusted my glasses as I saw Audrey waving at me, a nervous smile spreading across my lips.
"hi" she smiled, embracing me in a tight hug, "hi" I said, shyness clear in my tone.

"you look nice" I complimented

I examined her, she wore a floral mini dress with a blue cardigan and her hair was pinned back and wore plateau shoes which made her higher than me. I skimmed the crowd of people I was standing in, as someone caught my eye, that guy, Thomas who I saw earlier this day. God, he's so handsome. But he's out of my league.

"so how are you holding up?" Audrey asked, looking at me with sad puppy eyes, her brown puppy eyes which I adored so much. I shrugged, "it's fine, I'm fine" I said sighing "yet" I ended my sentence.

"remember, I'm here for you" she smiled.

"so what are we watching?" a girl from the cheerleaders asked, everybody had ideas. "hey what about you? What do you think?" Josh, a jock asked pointing towards me "you're not saying anything" he grinned, I shrugged "I don't know", "hmm" he huffed "well, then I think we should see the new horror flick 'fangs'" he said enthusiastic with his big eyes.

"okay" "alright" was heard among the crowd.

- Skipping the movie  –

As the movie was done we all just stood at the entrance, everyone was talking and chatting, i was just standing at the sideline.

"you did what?" a voice shouted, I looked to find out who the voice belonged to Thomas, he pushed his friend, Steve.

"man, stop, we were drunk" he said as his hands were up in the air

"I don't believe you" Thomas said through his gritted teeth, they were standing inches apart, until Thomas' girlfriend, Rachel, stood in-between them "enough" she exclaimed, we all stood in a circle around them.

"so" Thomas snarled "is it true? Between you two?" he asked her, looking at both of them, she nodded, and with that Thomas stormed out of the circle pushing, and then out of the theater, I've never seen him so angry

"Tommy, wait" Rachel ran to get him, I just thought this was weird, this only happens in movies, so it came to shock to all of us.
