Thirteen

Arisen

    They have been looking deep into each other's eyes for seconds, but suddenly a sound from Lore's oxygen breathing apparatus is heard. Kevin becomes nervous and starts getting closer to Lore's bed to see what's going on.

Maison 'What is that noise?'

   A slow voice(it was something very familiar to a whisper) came from nowhere.

Lore 'It's me.'

Kevin 'You're finally awake. I thought you would never open your eyes again. Can you talk? How do you feel?'

Lore 'Which question shall I answer first?' (a short smile plays on her lips)

Kevin 'Yeah, you're right. Ahm, Maison please go and let me check on her.'

Maison 'You must go and tell the crew that she's awake!'

Kevin 'I will as soon as I make sure everything is fine.And Maison..It is me who will tell them, alright?'

Maison leaves with a slight expression without answering the question, but he knows it's Kevin's duty to tell this, so he won't say anything. Kevin starts checking her heart's beatings and body temperature.

Kevin 'Coming back...How are you feeling?'

Lore 'I don't know. How does a person who came back to life should feel?'

Kevin 'Alive maybe?' (he laughs)

Lore (very serious) 'Well, I am definitely alive. At least I got rid of that eternal cold.'

Kevin 'Cold? Did you feel cold while you were in a coma?'

Lore 'In a coma? I fell into a coma?'

Kevin 'Unfortunately, yes. You have been here for fifteen years. But how did you feel the cold?'

Lore 'I am probably confused, I don't know. When am  I able to get up and walk?'

Kevin 'Today. You just need to wait for me because I have to go to take your last medicine and to say the others you woke up. It won't take long.'

   He is out and I am still here waiting again. How can a person talk to his victim so happily like nothing bad happened? He was lying to me. I wasn't in a coma and I felt that cold as deep as the bottom of the ocean. It's clearly that they don't know we could hear and feel everything meanwhile, so I will pretend I don't know anything to see what they want to do next. I have to get up and try to leave this place.

-Main room-

Kevin 'Lore woke up an hour ago. Everything is just like she had lived.'

Andrew 'I am surprised. I've never believed all of them will make it. These teenagers are the real proof of strength.'

January 'Now that they are all thirteen awake, we can advance to the next step.'

Monica 'Let's gather each one of them outside in the yard. They are anxious about this situation and they're starting asking questions. I think it's better to tell them what they want to hear.'

Liam 'Alright then. Everyone, in the yard, in twenty minutes.'

-Back to Lore-

When Kevin came in, Lore was trying to walk.

Kevin 'What are you trying to do?! Do you want to kill yourself for real this time? You're not allowed to walk until I say so, and definitely not alone! You aren't used to walking anymore and the spine could be hurt.'

Lore 'You said I could get up today.'

Kevin 'What I said was to wait for me returning and after I give you the last medicine, you will be able to walk. So sit down and let me administrate you this because we must be downstairs in twenty minutes.'
