Part one: The Strange Boy

/Yamaguchi's p.o.v./

I ran. I ran as fast as my legs could take me. I could hear them. Shouting at me, and their feet clapping on the pavement of my new school's campus. I needed to find a place to hide, or a place I could enter the building, find a teacher, hide in their classroom, wait for the bullies to go away. Of course I would never tell said teacher I was hiding. That would only make things worse, I'd be a dumb little snitch. Pathetic... I know, but it is what I must do to survive.

Damn! I thought. Where the hell can I go?! Why does this school have to be so freaking huge. I'll never find my way around.

I took a chance, I turned down a passage between two of the buildings. Bad choice. It was a dead end. No doors on either wall leading into either building. And in front an extremely tall fence. The barbed wire at the top making it impossible to climb.

"There you are commoner!" The ringleader of the group of five boys cracked his knuckles as he and the others approached. "Looks like you've run out of places to run."

"P-please." I begged backing up only for my back to hit the fence. "J-just please leave me alone. I'll do anything... just leave me alone." I know I'm being absolutely pathetic. I'm a wimp a , weakling, totally useless. I can't help it that I'm scared, or not strong, or I came from a not so rich family. Why must they make fun of me for things I can't change about myself.

"Anything huh?" He smirked back at me. "Do us a favor, and get the fuck out of our school. You don't belong here. Do you really think anyone will ever like, let alone love, a waste of oxygen like you. Here all you reduce to is a pathetic nothing. And until you see that we'll keep making sure you learn your lessons."

They started to close in on me again.

No, please! I cowered to the ground, crouching down, and covering my head and face with my arms. I squeezed my eyes shut trying to ready myself for the pain that was to come. It's not like I want to be here. I hate it, I'd do anything to leave this place. Anything... "L-leave me alone."

"Oi!" I suddenly heard an unfamiliar voice shout from behind the group of bullies. "What's going on here?!" New footsteps approached.

I didn't dare to look. I just listened intently.

"None of your busyness!" The ringleader snapped at the newcomer. "Who are you to interrupt is anyhow? Get lost pal!"

"I wouldn't talk so tough around me." I heard the guys voice threaten. I swear I could hear a slight chuckle as well. "I can be your worst nightmare if I want to, so I suggest you leave."

"Psh, yeah right. Like I'd be scared of you." He obviously wasn't taking him seriously at all. "Hey!" I heard him shout suddenly.

I snuck a small peak to see him being thrown roughly into his group.

"Now scram!" The guy yelled, and they all stumbled off bumbling like a bunch of cowards. I watched as his feet turned in my direction. "Are you okay?" His tone wasn't caring or concerned at all, it was emotionless.

I finally gained the courage to remove my protective arms, and look up at him. Hot! Was the first word that came to mind.

He was extremely tall, blond, strongly built, glasses. He was absolutely gorgeous.

"I asked if you were okay. Did you hear me?" He asked in the same tone as before. He held out his hand to me.

"Y-yes, sorry, I heard you. I-I'm fine." I stuttered taking his hand as he easily pulled me to my feet. "Th-thank you very much for saving me. I greatly appreciate it." I bowed deeply to him, feeling my cheeks start to heat up.

"No problem." He said with a straight face. "I'm Tsukishima Kei. I'm a first year."

"Yamaguchi Tadashi. Also a first year. It's a pleasure to meet you." I greeted. This guy is seriously in my class?! How did I not notice him before? I know I'm new, but still... He kind of sticks out. He's got to be the tallest first year I've ever seen.

"Well if you're fine, then I'll be going." He gave a small wave, put on the set of headphones that were hanging around his neck, and without another word walked away.

"W-wait!" I called, but he kept walking. Did he not hear me?

He is... Strange.
