Chapter 1 ~ the beginning

Alfred's pov

Ring Ring Ring
I heard the door bell ring. I warned Master Bruce I was getting the door allowing him to go change to his civilian clothes.
  I opened the door and saw nobody. I looked down and saw a brown basket with a sound l
Coming from it, it sounded like a baby crying.
  I carefully open the basket lid and found a baby no older than 9 months with an emerald pendent hanging from her neck along with a letter signed for Bruce.
  I quickly grabbed the basket and brought the baby inside and called for master Bruce.
" Master Bruce I believe it's for you." I called out waiting for him.
" who is it?" He asked very confused," I wasn't expecting someone today?"
He entered the room and saw the baby. His eyes widen.
" Alfred whose baby is that and why is it in here?" He asked.
" I don't know Master Bruce but I suggest you open this letter." I said while handing him the letter.

Bruces pov

" Alfred whose baby is that and why is it in here?" I asked wanting an explanation.
" I believe i don't know Master Bruce I suggest you open this letter." He said while handing me the letter.
The front read Bruce with elegant handwriting I didn't recognize. I slowly opened the envelope and unfolded the letter.

    Dear Bruce,

I know this isn't a very good news but this is your baby. You can do DNA tests and everything but I know for a fact this is yours I can't take care of her people are after me and the baby, the smartest idea I could thing of was sending her to you. Her name is Crystal and she is 10 months old. I know you won't be able to take care of her but you need to and be a father figure to her,she needs her father even if she doesn't know you're a crime fighter. The pendent around her neck is magical I gave it to her to protect her. It heals the owner no matter what. But if that pendent falls into The wrong hands it can do much as destroy the world. Please take care of our baby she needs to be in the hands of a hero not a villain don't give her up for adoption,Bruce because she will be the best thing that will ever happen to you trust me she's special. Do not tell her who I am please she deserves to have a good life and not have to worry about me.

"Alfred I think I figured out whose kid it is."I said in disbelief. I couldn't believe I have a kid with Thalia.
"Well whose is It?" He asked waiting for an answer.
After a few moments of silence I finally answered.

"It's mine" I said.
" And may I ask whose the mother?" He asked with a bit of concern in his voice.
"Thalia."
" Oh My Master Bruce you did not have a kid with Thalia!" He stood up and walked towards me,"Master Bruce when did this happen." He asked pointing at me.
" uhh ha ha like 1 year ago." I said wile scratching the back of my neck.
" Oh My does she want us to keep her?" He asked staring at me.
"She says it's not safe with her Alfred," I said while sitting down and holding my head in my hands." I don't know what to do."

"I'm going to tell you exactly what your going to do Master Bruce, you are going to keep this baby and that's it," Alfred said while picking up the baby," I'm going to go set up a room for her next to mine so I can take care of her and I expect you to take care of her to Master Bruce."

After he left the room I was left there thinking. I don't know how to take care of kids.

After about 10 minutes of thinking I finally got up and went to look for Alfred. I found him carrying Crystal in her soon to be room.

"Nice of you to finally join us Master Bruce would you like to hold her,"He said while heading Crystal to me," I'll leave you two alone... Oh and Bruce we need to buy baby food."
He left the room and I was left alone with Crystal. She looked me in the eyes and started giggling. I smiled maybe having a child won't be that bad.
