Chapter 3

Addison's View

Once Decan dropped me off, I ran in to find Marie sitting on the floor coloring. She looked so sweet and quiet. I put my bag on the couch as I asked, "What are you coloring?"

"Um, Tinkerbell," she said in her high pitched voice.

"Cute, where's everyone?" I asked.

"Nick left two minutes ago, when he saw Decan's car, and Mommy and Daddy had to stay at work late," she answered not taking her eyes off her picture.

I figured it's be the perfect time to work on my homework.

It took me two hours to finish all my homework.

When I finished, I asked Marie, "Are you hungry yet?"

She nodded. Then I ordered a medium peperoni pizza with bread sticks over the phone.

I heard my phone buzz, and I had 4 messages.

Sis, spending night at friends. Night- Nick

Honey, sorry I'll be on call all night- Dad

Sorry, I have to go to the opening of my new store in New York. Leaving tonight- Mom

Hey, babe. Wanted to make sure your okay. Love you- Lucas

So, maybe my plan would wok tonight.  Until I heard the doorbell ring, and Marie jumping for joy. I went and paid for our pizza.

While we were eating, I looked at her and asked, "How would you feel about going on a trip with me?"

"Depends where," she answered.

"I don't know yet," I told her.

"Well then, why do ya wanna leave?" she asked.

"You know how I can see the future. Well, I think I found someone, who can lead us to Stephanie," I explained.

She dropped her pizza and said, "When do we leave?"

I knew Marie missed her as much as I did. Sometimes she stills ask me when will Stephanie come home. The three of us use to have sleepovers in my room, and dress up together.

"Um, there's stuff we have to do first. I need to try and find where these people live. So, while I'm trying to figure that out, I need you to pack up some of your stuff into the luggage in the hall closet," I said quickly.

She skipped off to do her job, while I got to mine. I sat on our black leather couch and focused. Soon, I saw the man I saw before. He was sitting on a couch reading a thick book. I saw there was mail sitting on the coffee table in front of him. I made the picture zoom towards the mail. The only words I could make out were 'Moonlight Falls, North Carolina.'

I snapped back to reality. So, we lived in Virginia, and they were in North Carolina. For a year, I could have been a state away from figuring out where my sister was.

I ran up to my room and logged on to my sky blue laptop. I searched Moonlight Falls. I found it was a secluded town far away from most of the town. It didn't have a huge population, and there were forests and a waterfall. I bet that was beautiful. I logged off real fast to start packing.

I went to my hall closet and found my hot pink luggage set. I hurried up and put my make-up, jewelry, and other girlie things into the shoulder bag. I went to my room and put as much clothes as possible in the biggest suitcase. In the second largest, I put a few thick books. Then my iPod and iHome station, my phone and charger, and laptop. To fill the suitcase, I put my journal, push lesson notebook, photo albums, and all the spell books I could fit. Then I grabbed all the money I had.

I took my bags down the stairs to find Marie sitting with her luggage and snuggling her teddy bear that was dressed as an angel. "Wait here, while I put the stuff in the car," I commanded. I started by taking her stuff, and then I came back for mine.

"We can get going now," I said as she ran to the car. I hurried up and printed off directions to Moonlight Falls on our home computer, and then wrote a note saying how sorry I was to have to leave, but it was for the best.

When I got in the car, Marie was in her booster seat with a blanket over her. "I wanna see her soon," she mumbled.

"We will," I assured her, while I stated the car. Before, I pulled away I got my phone out, and I typed a message to Lucas.

I'm sorry I had to leave. But I'll never be truly happy until I know where Stephanie went. You can still text me, but you can't tell anyone that you heard from me. Just know I'll miss you and love you. -Addie

I pulled out of the driveway as I read the directions. It was about a 6-8 hour drive from here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were outside of town, when I decided we both needed something to eat. We stopped at this little diner right by the forest.

"How may I help?" a sweet waitress said.

"I'll take chicken fingers and fries with Sprite," Marie said right away.

"I'll take a BLT sandwich, chips, and a sweet tea," I said cheerfully.

"You seem happier," she giggled.

"I just feel closer to Stephanie than I've felt for awhile," I responded as Marie went back to coloring in the coloring book she had brought.

Soon, the waitress brought us our drinks and food.

"This is a really beautiful town," I stated looking towards the forest.

Once we finished eating, I paid, and we headed towards the car.

"Sis, I love spending time with you," she screamed loudly.

That's the last thing I remembered before blacking out.
