Chapter 11

I stared at my sister in shock. What was Addison keeping from me? Was she planning on leaving me? Maybe she decided to go back to be Lucas. I swore I heard something break. All of sudden a high pitched scream broke through my thoughts. I ran to where the scream came from to find a sight I never want to see again.

Addison was clutching her head as she sunk to the floor. There were tears streaming down her face as she screamed like she was being brutally murder. I never wanted to see her in this kind of pain again. What caused this? Then it clicked. She was having a vision. They really did cause her so much pain.

"Samantha, clean up this mess," I commanded her as I kneeled down next to her.

I gently whispered to her, "Block out the pain. What do you see?"

"There's a man. He's standing in the living room wearing a black cloak. He's feeding off a girl who looks to be about my age. She scared, but she was told not to move or make a sound. She wants to scream, but the command she has to follow. She glances around the room as tears run down her face. I see the bodies of nine other girls laying all across the room. Some laying in chairs and sofas, one on the coffee table, and even one on the stairs. Each are drained of blood. Some have chunks out of their arms and necks gone. The man smirked at the scared girl as she looks at her now dead friends. He tells, 'Soon you'll join them because I'm starving.' The man seems sick like he doesn't know what he's doing, but he can't stop. Please Damen, make it stop. I don't want to see her die," she says the end as she passes out in my arms.

"Shh, I won't let it happen," I said as I took her into my arms. Her head felt warm againist her skin. As I picked her up bridal style, I shouted to Samantha, "I'm taking her to her room. Bring me a wet towel, asprin, water, soup, and crackers, please."

I carried her to her bed and placed her under the covers, and then tucker her tightly into the bed. I grabbed the computer chair and pulled up right next to the bed. "It's going to be okay," I whispered as I caressed her face with my thumb.

I thought back to the vision a man slaughtered ten girls in my very own living room. How was that even possible? Whatever she'd seen had scared her to the point of passing out. Maybe I should read all the psychic progress reports in her file. At least next time, I'd be prepared. I heard the door creak open, and Samantha came in with the glass of water and a wet towel.

"The soup will be done in a few moments, and I'll bring the crackers and aspirin with that. To think, this has been happening to her since she was nine, and, at age 16, she's just now ready to be able to search the future on her own. I can tell she fears what she sees," she commented. I simply nodded as I set the water on the night stand and placed the towel on her burning forehead.

"Did she tell you what her family usually did when she has a vision?" I asked as I took Addison's hand in my own.

"Yeah, she said usually her sisters were with her when it happened up to a year ago. Stephanie would stay by her side, while Marie ran and got their brother. He would carry her to her room, and then all three of them would stay with her until she woke up. So, you are doing exactly what her family does for her," she explained. That made me feel a little better. At least I'm doing something right.

I heard Samantha leave the room, but I didn't look back to make sure. I kept all my focus on Addison. I whispered to her, "Please wake up soon. I won't leave your side until you're better."

"I brought your laptop. I thought you might want to work a little while you wait," Samantha stated as she sat down my black laptop on my lap. When she left, I opened the sleek computer. I didn't feel like trying to find her sister, so I searched her family. Her father was some big sports medicine doctor for mostly college teams. The mother owned a big time clothing store that was opening one in Texas in the next couple months. Nick, the brother, was a pretty good basketball player, according to their school website. Their wasn't much on Marie, but they had a little on Stephanie. She had been acting in plays for a few years, and she had been very talented. She had interest in softball and writing, too.

"Hmm," I heard Addison mutter. Then Samantha came in with the soup, asprin, and crackers. She set them down on the side table, and then left the room. "Are you finally awake?" I asked her.

"Somewhat. Gosh, my heads killing me," she complained. I handed her the clear glass of water and two tiny aspirin pills.

"These should take that away," I stated as she popped the two pills and jugged the water.

"Thanks, did you carry me all the way up here?" she questioned as she took the soup and crackers on to her lap and started to eat.

"Yeah, you were in so much pain," I answered.

"Yeah, I know. My sister use to tell me I looked like I was dying, but it use to be worse," she told me.

How could it be any worse then what I saw? "Well, at least it's gotten better," I said as I got up to leave.

She grabbed me by my list and pleaded, "Please don't leave me."

God, she pulled out the puppy dog face on me. I watched as she slurped down her chicken noodle soup and crunched down on salty crackers. I decided to ask, "Is there anything you're not telling me?"

"Um, no, I've told you everything," she said clearly lying.

"Are you sure?"  I insisted.

I smirked at her, "Positive, you can tell me anything you know."

"Nope, nothing to tell. You know everything you need to know," she said, but hesitated a little.

"Well, okay then," I commented as she got up.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I need pajamas on," she said skipping to the bathroom.

I quickly dropped the glass, bowl, and plate into the kitchen sink and sped upstairs. When I sat down, Addison came out wearing a hot pink tank top, pink short shorts, and red knee high socks with red hearts covering them. "Nice socks," I told her.

"That are cute, aren't they," she said climbing into her bed.

She wrapped herself tightly up in her blankets and drifted over slowly to sleep. I decided to go to the other side of the bed, and sleep next to her. Yes, vampires sleep, and I lost my sleep yesterday, so I was exhausted.

I wrapped my arms tightly around her and whispered, "Soon, it'll be like this for an eternity. I know deep down inside you want to be with me, too. I promise soon we'll be together as soon as we can."

Then I drifted off to sleep.

Author's Note: Happy New Years to everyone! Hope you all had a good time. The new year shows a time to set new goals and get a fresh start to something you've been planning to do. Honest opinion, who do you think Addison should be with? Lucas, the guy she's been seeing for 1 year, or Damen, the man who was supposedly made to be with her.
