Chapter 14

Addison

I had just put on my basketball team red t-shirt and matching sweatpants, when Samantha shouted, "Dinner's here." I heard Marie and Zane race down the stairs laughing at something. I followed them down the steps, and then I realized this would be my first time eating with all of them.

Once I got two slices of steaming hot pepperoni pizza, I sat down next to Samantha. Zane and Marie sat across from us, and Damen ended up right next to me, of course. As everyone ate, there was an awkward silence. Samantha finally broke the silence, "So, Addison, are you excited to see Nick and Lucas tomorrow?"

I saw Damen freeze at the word Lucas, but I answered honestly anyway, "Yeah, I'v been here for like three days, but I miss them both. They knew how to make the worst situation twenty times better, but I have to wait until after school to see them. I have so much to talk to everyone about."

As I said the last part, I gave Samantha a wink, which made her smile. "What do you need to talk them about?" Damen asked.

"Oh, well, I need to talk about Marie with Nick," I answered.

"What about me?" she said.

"I'm sure they are going to want you to go home with them, or they might want you for the holidays," I told her.

She pouted, "I don't wanna leave."

"We'll talk about it tomorrow. Anyway, I need to talk to Decan about your uncle, and with Lucas I have a lot to discuss," I told them.

I heard Damen mumble, "All you have to tell Lucas is it's over."

Samantha gave him a wicked look as she said, "Tomorrow should be filled with a whole lot of fun."

I giggled at that. Gosh in twenty four hours my brother, master, and boyfriend will be eating dinner with my sister, new friend, her Fated, her nephew, and my supposed Fated. Talk about distaters coming. Why can't life just be simple?

I realized now I would truly be faced with the question I'd been asking for awhile. If I'm being forced to stay here, could I keep my relationship with Lucas? I really liked Lucas, I mean I loved him. He was this amazingly sweet guy, who seemed to know what I just needed to hear. I don't think I could imagine my life without him in it. On the other hand, I had to stay here to try and search for my sister. I'd made a new friend, who I didn't want to leave my life, and who would help me search for answers. I knew that when Lucas was here we would have to talk about a lot. From our conversation on the phone, I knew he thought I'd chosen Damen over him, so the one thing I need him to know is that it wasn't true.

"So, what's your school like?" I asked Samantha trying to change the subject from Lucas.

"Oh, we will have so much fun. You'll be taking all the same classes you were at your old school," she stated. That sounded nice at least I'll be caught up and not have to stress. After dinner, I decided to head straight to bed.

-----------

"Addison, it's time to wake up," I head a voice say. I peeled my eyes open and saw Damen standing above my bed.

I looked at him confused as I glanced at the clock, "Why am I getting up at 5:45. School doesn't start until 8:00."

He smirked, "I'm making sure you have enough time to get ready and eat breakfast. Now, what would you like for breakfast?"

I though for a minute, "Pancakes and bacon sound really good right now."

Then he speedily left the room. I rolled out of bed and trudged to the bathroom. I went and took a twenty minute shower to wake me up. I wrapped a green towel around my body and a blue one around my hair. I looked through my walk in closet. Until I found the perfect outfit, I decided to just do casual for the first day of school. I put on a pair of dark wash regular jeans with a white loose fitting blouse. Plus, on my feet, I put white and black Converse. I styled my hair down with cute curls. I put a dab of pink blush on, a tiny bit of white eyeshadow, and black eyeliner. For a final touch, I added pink lipstick.

I walked downstairs to find Sam sitting at the table. She was dressed in a cute neon pink camisole with a jean jacket thrown over it and blue jeans. As usual, her face was bare of make-up and her straight hair was down.

"You look tired," she commented.

"I'm not use to being up this early. Usually, we get up at 6:30," I stated.

"Well, Damen likes to make sure everyone eats before school," she explained showing me her glass filled with blood.

I changed the subject, "Where is everyone?"

"Damen's checking on our uncle, and Zane and Marie are getting ready for school. By the way, here's your backpack filled with everything you need," she answered as she pointed to a teal and green polka dotted over the shoulder bag.

Just then, Marie and Zane descended the stairs like zombies. Zane was dressed in khaki shorts with a red t-shirt and red basketball shoes. He had combed his hair, but had styled it. Marie had pulled her hair up into two pigtails. For her clothes, she had on a long sleeved green buttoned up shirt and light blue jeans with grey boots.

"You guys tired, also," I told them. They both nodded as they sat down. I hadn't noticed Sam leave, but she came in with three glasses. Two filled with orange juice, and one with the red thick liquid known as blood. She set them down, and Zane shyly picked up his. It was way to early to be up. This is ridiculous. I stormed into the kitchen determined to head to a coffee machine. The first thing I saw in the kitchen was Damen standing there with nothing but black sweatpants on.

"Why aren't you wearing a shirt?" I asked as I went over to the coffee machine.

He turned around and smirked, "What you don't like what you see?"

I rolled my eyes as I poured my coffee, "Is the food almost ready?"

He nodded as I went back to the table where everyone looked exhausted.

In about 15 minutes, Damen came in with plates of foods. I immediately started to cut into my pancakes and start eating, Maybe the food will give me the energy to survive the school day. The food was really yummy. I had to stay Damen was a great cook.

Breakfast was filled with question and jokes. After checking to make sure everyone had everything about 15 times, we decided it was time to get going. Damen decided to take Zane and Marie to school, while Sam drove us.

School was pretty great. Samantha had changed her schedule so that we had every class together. We talked through out every class. She introduced me to some of her friends, who we sat with at lunch. For once, I actually felt like I belonged.

Once we got home, we head Marie shouting, "I missed you,"

I thought she was talking to me, but I was proved wrong when I walked into the family room. Marie had been talking to Nick and was now sitting in his lap. My eyes lite up when I saw Nick, Lucas, and Decan sitting on the couch across from Damen. Lucas stood up and held his arms out. I ran directly into them and whispered, "I've missed you so much."

Then I heard a growl.
