CHAPTER FIVE

I shrugged on my black pea coat over my loose silk black tank top. I buttoned up my faded skinny jeans, and slipped on my black Toms. Mother mewed at me. She was down for a visit from her house in Hogsmead, and the three of us had plans for lunch. I took a deep breath, scratching upper her chin to silence her. "Alright, alright. Just a second." I laughed slas she purred, rolling over on her side on my bed.

I trotted into the bathroom in my chambers, closing the door behind me. I stopped in frot of the marble counter, and began shifting through a glass dish full of jewelry by my sink. I pulled out the locket Snape gave me all the time ago, slipping it on. I then began to weary for somethig else in that dish: the stone.

It's been a few days since I've spoken to him, since before school began. I'm ashamed to say I've been so overwealmed in work, that I have been neglecting this. I took a deep breath, and picked up the stone between my forefinger and thumb, and melted.

There he was. My beautiful Snape, the same as ever. I even felt a bit more normal, seeing as we looked nearly the same age now. I smiled at him. "Hello, Snape." I greeted him, that normal sad ache beginning to gnaw at my chest.

"Finally." He breathed, exasperated. I laughed. "Have you been around?" I asked him, still smiling. He waved his hand. "Here and there. I've had matters to attend to." He replied. I bit my lip with excitement.

He surely already knew, but I wanted to say it anyways. "Nox made Slytherin." I announced happily. A small grin quirked on his thin lips. "I know." He replied, still looking down. He moved his eyes to meet mine. "Where is she? I want to congratulate her."

Nox and Snape had contact, but not much. I collapsed onto the toilet seat, leaning on it like a chair. "In her dormitory. I was about to go get her." I told him. Snape ran a hand through his black tresses. "Give her my best, then." He asked, and I nodded. "I will." I whispered, the ache in my growing. I wanted sonbadly to reah out and touch him... To hold him again, and have him hold me the way he had before he died.

I would do anything to get him back. I swallowed, keeping my voice steady. "I'll see you again soon, then." I cast my eyes down, tears threatening to rise in them. It's been all these many years, yet I still wanted to cry every time I saw him. Some things would never change.

Snapes ghostly white figure floated over, a slight wind following in his trail. He reached out to touch me, though we both knew it was a fruitless attempt. He brushed his transparent fingers over the tender, flushed skin of my cheek. I could almost feel the cold, light touch.

He sighed. "Oh, Claudinia." He said, looked me in the eye. "Your still the teenage girl I knew long ago." I tilted my head to the side, and blinked my eyes. Snape knelt down to be renowned with me. "And if you don't grow up, our child will out-mature you." I laughed at his comment. Snape will never change; dead of alive, he's still the snarky potions master.

He gave me a crooked smile, and I stood, tucking the stone into my jeans pocket. Snale dissapeared. "Goodbye, Snape." I whispered to the lonely air.

Nox tugged on my coat edge. "Mommy, when will I see Uncle Harry again?" She asked me. I didn't look down at her, but instead kept my eyes fixed on the path ahead. "Oh, just a few days. I have a meeting on Wednesday." I told her. She muttered something incoherent to herself, and I eyed the child suspiciously.

She turned her black orbs on me, grinning impishly. "Hehe. Nothing, mommy. Just happy to see him again, is all." She excused. I wasn't so sure about that, but mother pulled on my arm before I could think more on it. I looked at her, long strawberry blond curls bouncing.
