I Cant Believe It
Chapter One
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Vanessa hurry up! Were gonna be late for our first day of school!" I was about to sit on the couch when my iPhone rang. I looked at the screen. My mother was calling.
"Hello?"
"Hi, honey its mom."
"You don't have to keep saying that every time you call me. I have caller ID." I chuckled. My mom was a little old-fashion.
"Yeah but sometimes I don't think my name shows up. Anyways, I got something to tell you." She sounded sad.
"Uh-oh, what did you do?"
"I didn't do anything. Actually its good and bad news. The good news is my job 'Better For Worse' moved out of that little place and moved to another one because the place that they rented is way more bigger and better than our other place and my boss feels like we would get more customers here and make more money. The bad news is that the place my job moved to is in California and I'm going to accept the offer."
"Well mom, I understand. If it means you making more money...then go ahead and accept it."
"Oh thank you! I thought you were going to scream your head off at me, but I really appreciate it that you understand."
"You're welcome mom. I love you."
"I love you too. Tell Vanessa I said hi. Bye."
"Bye."
I hung up with my mom and looked at Vanessa.
"Who was that?" she said. She was wearing a black tank - top, which had showed her belly button ring, the tank -top had 'sexy' written on it with diamonds, black shorts that were short enough to be her underwear, and black heels with diamonds all over it. I was sometimes jealous of the clothes she had. I didn't own any of that kind of clothing because it wasn't my style. It didn't really fit my look.
She was wearing a lot of black eye liner with glitter, black eye shadow, and hot pink lipstick. As much of a clown it makes her sound, she actually looked very pretty. My sister was a really pretty girl. She had blonde curly hair, she was 5'8, she had an incredibly slim figure, she had green eyes, and she was 17.
I, on the other hand, thought I was ugly. I have brown wavy hair with some high-lights, I'm 5'6, I'm skinny, I have brown eyes, and I am 16. Vanessa gets all the boys. They practicality drool over her. I had a couple of boys that drooled over me, but I turned them all down because I'm ugly.
"Mom". I answered her.
"Oh, what did she want?" She said it like mom was her enemy.
I told what our mother told me and she seemed kind of happy. "Whatever. Now lets go were going to be late for our first day of school! And you say I'm slow."
You are! I said in my head. Vanessa was always mean to me. She would always boss me around. I would never be mean to her because I was too afraid. I was always the good one. And in school I got all straight A's, was never rude to a teacher or my classmates and was always quiet. We often move from school to school because of my moms job so I was used to being the new girl.
Me and Vanessa got into the car and I started to drive. I always had to drive. As soon as we got out of the car, this good looking boy comes up to me.
"So you're new?"
He was smirking at me. He was wearing a black leather jacket with a blue T-shirt, dark blue jeans, and blue converse.
"Yeah" I told him looking down. I was a little shy. I was never like that before.
"You know we don't 'have' to wear school uniforms, right?" He was looking at my outfit. "Umm, no" I said looking up at him. He had blue eyes and dark brown hair. His hair was styled in a way that look liked Justin Bieber's hair. Almost like a mow-hawk, but not really. I don't know how to explain it.
"So do you want me to show you around?" The way he acted and looked you could tell he was the school's bad boy.
You know, the weirdest thing was that I've been changing schools a lot and I was never shy. But this time I was. Only when I was around..... wait......I don't even know the guys name.
"So what's your name?" I asked very shyly and low, while looking down.
"Anthony Burns, what's your's?" I started to blush a little and my heart was beating faster. I never felt this way around anybody. Especially around people I barely knew.
"Kayla Spades."I picked my head up to look at his beautiful blue eyes. What am I saying! I dont even know the guy and I'm doing this.
He snorted, "That's a real nice name. Especially the last one. Spades. The name of one of the cards."
I already could tell he was a smart ass. So I didn't take it offensively. "Oh so you're one of those smart asses, right?" I was the one to smirk now.
"Oh my God. The Kayla Spades, the one that I heard was supposed to be the good one, just cursed? "he said sarcastically.
"Shut up." He smiled at me. It was a real, genuine smile. Not a smirk. I felt like I was in heaven when he did that. I don't know why but I just did.
"Mmm, you're a fiesty one. I like that. A lot." Immediately I started to blush. He smiled.
