Wait, my brother!!!
"Busy, are you." Arrav said smiling from ear to ear. I was surprised to see him.
"You wernt coming until next month."
"Well, I am here. Come here, I've missed you so much" he engulfed me in a bone crushing hug and kissed the top of my head.
"Arrav I can't breathe. Let go! Now!" He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled awkwardly. Seems like he's been working out. He looked at me and then at Aryan. And I realized I hadn't introduced them.
"Arrav, this is Aryan. And Aryan this is Arrav, my brother." Aryan put forward his hand and Arrav took it.
"Hi. I'm Arrav Mohra. How come I've never meet you before.? I know all of Avi's friends." Arrav slid his arm on my shoulder.
"Hello. I'm Aryan Devan. I'm new here. Me and my family just shifted to Delhi from Dehradun." Aryan replied causally.
"I hope you are adjusting well then. Delhi is nothing like dehradun." Arrav shifted his wait from one feet to the other. He usually does this when he no longer wants to continue a conversation.
"Yeah. It's much better, I suppose." All three of us chuckled.
"Stay for dinner Aryan. I hope you like fish." Arrav said.
Fish. My insides lit up after hearing the word 'Fish'.
"Oh, no no. I should be getting going. Mom's probably waiting for me " he put his hand out once again "It was nice meeting you Arrav. Good night."
Arrav shook his hand and replied "You too."
With that Aryan's eye meet mine and my stomach did a 360° summersault.
"Good night Abani. I had fun today."
"Good night, Aryan." My cheeks were heating up. I saw Arrav giving me a smug look.
Aryan turned around and started walking. The sight of him walking away made me sad. I didn't want him to go.
Interrupting my thoughts, Arrav cleared his throat. His grin was widening with every passing second.
"What.Was.That." He finally said, making his eyebrows dance. You know that up and down thing. Irritating is all it is.
"Nothing." I bluntly said and started walking towards the door.
"Didn't look like nothing." He was walking behind me but I could hear him smile.
I opened the door only to reveal my living room full of people. Everybody turned there gaze towards me, which made me really nervous for some reason.
There they all were, sitting on the couch and some dining chairs. My mum, dad, Vani, Vartika, Ayush, Harsh, Raghav and Divansh.
Divansh.
His eyes were glued on me and I was glued to the floor. Arrav bumped into me from behind, breaking my stillness.
"Walk on lazy" Arrav said gesturing me to walk.
I took notice of his words but stared ahead as if I'd seen a ghost.
Suddenly my heart seemed be beating at an abnormal rate. Sweat beats started forming at my forehead. And my intermittent asthma wasn't helping much either.
"Abani, you look pale. What's wrong??" My mum stood up and came running to me. I couldn't process what was going on.
I was still standing glued to the floor.
Why are all these people here? Why is my brother here? Why is Divansh here? Shouldn't they all be attending there lectures or writing semester exams right now?
