I entered my house and collapsed on the sofa in a starfish position.

"Mum, what's for dinner? My hunger bits now!" I exclaimed, rubbing my temples.

"Chicken gravy and rice." She was setting up the table for dinner, "Long day?" Putting all the crockery where it belonged, she walked to me.

"Long day doesn't even begin to cover it." I let out an audible sigh, looking up to face her.

She kindly smiled at me.

Smiles like this from her at this hour were a rare phenomenon. By the time we all sat down to have dinner was when she'd be so tired that she didn't even want to speak to anyone.

"You look happy." I stood up to all her height.

She pinched my cheeks and planted a kiss. "Mh-mm. Come, let's eat."

I sat down, fully focused and determined to complete my syllabus before 3am.

Taking my books out, I studying the stupid Indian Monsoonal Pattern, whivh, let me tell you is the most difficult thing to do at 1 in the night.

It was as if my mind was determined to not take in anything related to precipitation...So coffee.

Because coffee is the answer to everything.

I got up to make myself a steaming, hot cup of that dark, addictive liquid. In the process, I decided to social as well!
Y WiFi connected as soon as I turned my phone on.

Brain: Because when you have shit load of work, the ideal thing to do is drink coffee and socialise.
Me: Whaaaat! I'll log out after 20 minutes, I promise!
Brain: Pst! Whom are you kidding?
Me: Pst! Myself!

As soon as my Wi-Fi connected, my phone was bombarded with messages. More than half of them were from Arundhti.

A particular message interested me though.

It was from Aryan.

Aryan- Black suits you.

My mood instantly lit up. All the tiredness and irritation from the day was long gone.

Placing the pan on the stove, I decided to reply.

I wear black on Wednesdays, just like I wear black on the other days ;)

I kept the phone aside and poured milk into the pan.

My phone vibrated signalling a received message. It was from Aryan.

Aryan: why are you still awake?? It's 1.

Abani: I might ask you the same question.

Aryan: but I asked first :p

Abani: studying for a test. You?

Aryan: couldn't sleep. Nightmares T^T

Abani: Aww. Aryan wants mamma to make the monsters go away! XD

Aryan: Uggh! Stop.. you're mean!

Abani: Hahaha, thanks XD

Aryan: you are still laughing -_-

Abani: Do I need a permission slip from you, sir? :/

Aryan: maybe XD

Abani: *slow claps*

Aryan: Thank you, Milady.
