Chapter 2, Published: 07/22/16

August 2015

If I didn't stay up until 4 last night and forget to plan my outfit I would have shown up to my first day as a tenth grader looking my best.

But of course I had to stay up until 4 last night and forget to plan my outfit.

I started my morning running around the house, going from the bathroom to make me look presentable to the kitchen to stuff my face to the indoor closet to make me look decent.

During which I knocked my bowl of chocolate cereal over, put on two different shoes, and had my mascara wand fall in the toilet.

"How do you even break liquid concealer, anyway?" My friend, Charlie Chapman, asks as she drives us to Jenner High School. "Aren't the bottles usually, like, half a centimeter thick of plastic?"

I just groaned. "This was not how I wanted today to go."

"Just look forward to fact that you got Ms. Willet to change your curriculum. I mean, I personally don't see how taking P.E. out for junior chemistry could be uplifting but since you do you should be excited!" Once she parked the car we got out and started walking into the school.

"Whatever, I'll see you at lunch or something," I told her before we parted ways.

---

"I missed you so much!" Cassie squealed when I walked into my homeroom. She ran up to me before giving me a tight hug.

"Someone's looking very patriotic today." I heard someone say and I groaned.

In the midst of my rushing, I ended up wearing a navy blue shirt, dark-washed skinny jeans, and... A left red converse shoe and a white one on my right foot.

I removed myself from Cassie and glared at the guy two feet away from me. "At least I... embrace... my-my natural hair colour instead of bleaching it every month with Clorox."

Cameron's eyes widen. "That was a supposed to be secret!"

Cassie squeals again. "Clemmy!"

Clemmy Hart frowns as she's brought into a hug with Cassie. "What did I say about calling me that?"

"Right, right. Sorry, Clementine."

Clemmy- Clementine looks at Cameron and rolls her eyes before she says: "Well, it was a badly kept secret. I can see the green in your hair. Gross." I laugh at Cameron's expense but then she looks at me this time, clearly not done with her rant. "And independence day was last month."

Cameron grins. "I'd laugh if Clemmy hadn't just insulted me first." Even though he'd emphasized her name a little loudly, she didn't hear Cameron; too busy arguing with the guy who was supposedly in her seat.

I smiled as I took a seat in the front next to Cassie.

I may have had a rough morning, but long as I didn't mix up my shoes and cause trouble with everyone who rubbed me the wrong way (since that never got me anywhere) I think I could have a good year.

AN:
Hey guys! I know this was a boring chapter, but I just wanted to introduce the characters.

I went to the store today to buy an avocado and ended getting a dozen food items AND NO AVOCADO. Because why would I pay $2.50 for something the size of my fist?

Q:
What's your favourite colour?

Do you have trouble waking up in the morning like Olivia?

Bye!
