Flashes of moving bodies breeze by through my vision as it seems as if the world was moving in slow yet also fast motion. Everything happened so fast and now everything's moving so slow. Out of the corner of my eye I can see a couple of the guards talking about how there is no evidence of an intrusion. Bullshit. They're just not looking good enough.
I can still hear the heart wrenching sobs from Lia. Her cries echoing and ringing throughout the room and into my ears. Bryce found a corner to himself where I could hear him leave holes of misery, and heart ache in the walls, but my eyes were locked on Ronan. His body and face stiff and emotionless, yet his eyes told a different story. I saw right through him. I saw his pain. I felt his pain. And it broke me to pieces.
He had to put on a fake demeanor expression as more guards came in and the council inducted a ceremony. They couldn't wait any longer as Ronan's parents passed into the after life and a new ruler was needed immediately. Ronan had to pledge his vows to the kingdom and in just a few minutes he was no longer a prince but was named King.
The head council man put a hand on Ronan's shoulder mumbling about his sorry for his lost, and he'll be a great king like his father. Ronan only nodded his head his face stone cold showing no feelings. But I knew him better, he was breaking.
As everyone left and the late King and Queens bodies were led out to be prepared for the funeral, it was just Ronan and I standing still in a pit of silence. Neither of us moving, you would have thought we were dead if it wasn't for the small rise of our chests every now and then showing out steady breaths. Maybe I should make the first move to him? Yet I'm stuck to the same spot I've been in since we discovered this tragedy.
I'm shocked when I see him turn towards me, his fake demeanor gone. The tears filled in his eyes as one by one they trickled down his smooth cheeks. My heart ached for him. I know what it's like to lose your parents. I don't know if Vivian was telling the truth but I've already come to conclusion I lost them the day I woke up in that cellar chained up like a rapid animal.
My body surprises me as I hear my footsteps and the distance between us gets smaller and smaller but I soon come to a stop when I see fire in his hand. His face was contorted into agonizing pain as he stared at the ruined bed that his parents once lay in. I stare at his hand that magically hand fire coming out of weary of what is intentions were. He slowly moved his hand so that the flame touched the battered sheets and it all irrupted into a flame. He moved back away from the strong light, his hand back to normal and he walked away from the fire.
"Come my Miabella" he grabs a hold of my hand and pulls me along with him. I think that was the first time I heard him speak since we entered the room. We walked through the doors and I turn to see one guard left standing outside of the frame. I quickly try to release my hand from Ronan's but he only tightens his hold on me.
"Inviare il personale di pulizia fino" he smoothly speaks to the guard. In which the guard nods in return walking the opposite direction of us. We continue to walk down the never ending hallway until we finally get to the staircase and one by one we make it to the bottom. He lets go of my hand and my chest falls missing the feeling of his skin against mine. He opens the front door for me gesturing for me to walk outside. I walk through and see some of the slaves putting our luggage in the back of the limo preparing us to head back 'home'. I turn around to see Ronan busy talking to one of the vampires I recognize from the council and decide to just walk to the limo myself.
As I get closer to the car one of the servants goes to the door to open it for me yet he didn't look like a servant, he wasn't human. He looked oddly familiar in a way I couldn't recognize.
"Oh Miabella you never know when to stop. Good thing your just helping with our plan" the man whispers loud enough for me to hear pushing me into the limo and slamming the sort behind me and locking me in. My eyes widen in fear. The moment he spoke I knew exactly who he was and the person awaiting in the vehicle concluded my thoughts.
