White. White. White.

That's the only color, if you could even say it's a color, that covered everything. People rushed in and out of the room I was standing in. Some fixing and arranging the silk and cotton that covered my skin and left a long 10 foot trail behind me. Others took powders and liquids to decorate my eyes, lips, and cheeks, all the while one person pinned my hair into an elegant curly cascading bun and clipping flowers into the curls and lastly finishing with the veil that sits atop my head covering my face.

A loud knock on the door takes everyone's attention as all of our heads swing towards the direction the noise came from. Immediately everyone that was tending to me and my attire left the room in a flash but also not forgetting to bow in submission to the man standing in the doorway. I shake my head and turn towards the full body mirror looking at my reflection and seeing his figure in the top corner.

"You know it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding right?" I say trying to sound serious but end up laughing a little.

"That's just a myth" he says as he he stalks towards my direction. Warm hands find their way to my hips as he places his chin in the crook of my neck. I lean back and tilt my head to the side reveling in the blissful feeling. I watch as my eyes flash through the veil between my normal emerald eyes to an electrifying violet.

"What am I?" I question while staring into my changing eyes until the settle to the normal green.

"Beautiful" he replies and I see his cheeky grin from behind me in the mirror. I give him a serious glance while playfully rolling my eyes.

"Now's not the time to be romantic Ronan" I tell him while turning around so I face him. He goes to reach up and move the veil but I am quick to slap his hand away.

"Not yet mister" I warn him.

"Come on I say we practice a little bit" he grins cheekily.

"Plus it's our wedding day it's the perfect time to be romantic" he adds as he takes my hand in his bringing it up to his lips and leaving a gentle kiss. Sparks ignite across my skin leaving my body in contentment. I smile at the small gesture.

"Seriously though what am I? Why do my eyes flash between green and violet?" I question.

"You're immortal" he replies.

"So what? Am I like you?"

"Not entirely" he pauses lifting my wrist to my eye level. He runs his fingers over my popping veins, making shivers course down my spine.

"You see when I bit you it was a marking bite. My venom runs through your veins, not tainting it, but more of coexisting with your blood. It gives your body energy that it can't normally find. It's strengthen every system in your body without having to become a full blood vampire" he explains.

"So what your saying is I'm part vampire but still human?"

"Well if you put it in that terms then yes. You are half vampire, half human. You still live as you would a human, no diet changing or anything just heightened abilities like a vampire."

"Are there others like me?" I wonder.

"There was. My great great grandmother. She was the first prophecy born human and into slavery and my grandfather born Pureblood" he says.

"How does that even work? Being half vampire, half human?" I ask.

"It has to do with your blood. You were born as the prophecy so therefore your body is immune to the changing and rather accepts the venom as an energy source to heighten your human abilities. So for example, vampires need blood in order to survive and get strong, where as for you your body feeds off the venom letting you live a normal life" he finishes.
