Twenty Five

It was 4 am. Calum was sound asleep. Calum's phone went off. It was Luke calling. It took about two tries, but Calum answered, still half asleep. "Babe? What's wrong?" Calum asked, groggily. "I-I had a bad d-dream." Luke spoke, shakily. "I miss you Calum, I really do." Luke added. "I miss you too babe. But, it's going to be okay. What was it about?" Calum asked. "It was our wedding day a-and we were about to say our vows, t-then m-my dad comes and takes me away from you. You said you'd find m-me, but you never did. You gave up on me." Luke cried. "I will never ever give up on you baby." Calum cooed. "Please don't. I can't lose you Calum." Luke sobbed. "You won't. I'm here to stay. Now, just calm down for me babe." Calum said soothingly. Calum heard Luke's breathing slow down and his sniffles stopped. "I'm so sorry I woke you up Calum." Luke apologized. "It's fine baby. As long as you're feeling better." Calum smiled, even though Luke couldn't see him.

"A-are you sure? I-I don't want you mad at me." Luke trembled. "I'll never be mad at you baby about something like this. I'm here for you, always." Calum said. "T-thank you Calum. I love you." Luke said. "I love you too babe." Calum said. "You must be tired, go back to sleep." Calum added. "I can't I have to wake up for my classes anyways so I'll talk to you later." Luke said. Calum almost forgot about the time zones. He needs to figure it out cause he doesn't want to call him when Luke's sleeping, his baby needs his beauty sleep, even though Calum always tells him he's beautiful Luke never believes it though.

They said their goodbyes and Calum went back to sleep, it was nearly 4 in the morning. It seemed short, but they've been talking for almost an hour. Calum loved their talks, he loved hearing Luke's voice. It was so petite and so soft. Calum could never get enough.

Calum woke up again and it was almost noon. He figured Luke was at work so he didn't bother to call him because he didn't want to get Luke in trouble then causing him to get fired. Luke really wants an apartment, so he needs the money. Calum didn't want to be the reason why Luke got fired.

"Calum!" Joy called. Calum lazily got up from his bed and walked downstairs. "Yes mum." Calum said staying on the stairs halfway. "I have to run some errands then my job. Please pick up Mali, she's at the daycare center since I had to leave earlier and you were asleep. Pick her up in an hour." His mum told him. "No worries mum. I will." Calum promised. "Please don't forget hun' I'll get dinner on my home. I got to go by Calum. Don't forget. Also, don't forget to do your chores. The list is on the counter. You should be done in time to get Mali." His mum said as she walked out the door. Calum couldn't respond since his mum was already outside. He just sighed and went to do his chores.

Chore List:
Dishes
Clean the water bottles from your room
Make the beds
Sweep and vacuum
Rake the leaves
Take out the trash

Grocery List:
Milk
Cheese
Eggs
Bread
Cereal

Calum had to do all the chores, even his mum's. He didn't mind, he wasn't really fond of being in a dirty house, it just bothered him so much. Since Mali wasn't old enough to do his chores Calum basically had to do everything. It was time consuming. Calum began with he dishes. He had to go to his room to get his dishes he left in his room and he went in his mums room to get hers. After, he went to get his empty water bottles under and everywhere in his room. If we're being honest here, that's mainly the reason Calum gets in trouble; for having too many water bottles in his room. That and getting drunk. He's trying to break that habit. Baby steps.

Then, he had to make his bed, along with both Mali's and his mum's. He then had to sweep and vacuum. That took the longest. He had to get every speck of dust, in every corner. He was already tired from doing them. After that, he had to rake the leaves in the back. When he was done, he quickly changed and went to the grocery store. Calum being Calum, he forgot the list. He groaned and ran back inside to get it.
