My classes were okay, I mean classes can't be great all the time. The next period is lunch, where I don't have a clue where to go. I have my food, and now comes the looking part. Looking for a hopeful group who knows nothing about me, but will gladly accept me an love me for who I am.

I see the blonde girl who challenged me earlier. That's not quite right.

Then I hear my name, from behind me.

I turn around, and I see Kelsey. I smile at her as I charge to her table.

Once I get there I set down my food, and take a look. There are two boys, three girls counting Kelsey. And one of those boys is my neighbor.

He looks at me and huffs out a sigh.

I sit down across from him, and next to Kelsey.

"Do you two know each other?" She asks, I wish I didn't.

I say yes, and he says no.

"He's my next door neighbor." I roll my eyes at him, and he scoffs.

"Next time just mind your own business, alright?" He crosses his arms, and looks anywhere but at me.

"Fine." I let out, as I take a piece of pizza into my mouth.

"Anyways, this is Faye, Ben, who you've already met, Barbra, and Jax." Kelsey points at every singe one of them so I know who's who.

Jax sends me a warming smile, while Faye seems a little stand off-ish. Barbra is sweet, she waves and Ben, is ben. I see Faye's face change when she looked at me.

"What's your name again?" She asks, leaning in for the answer.

"It'a Kara Matthews.." I trail off, taking a sip of the water on my tray.

"Matthews?!" Jax screams, causing the crowd in the lunchroom to look over at us.

"Yes, Matthews." I confirm, still sipping on my water, these kids were a handful.

"I told you!" Kelsey whispers at them, then looks up at me.

"Told them what?" I ask her, what was with this town and it's secrets?

I can see Kelsey literally bite her tongue.

"You shouldn't have come-" Ben starts to say but I beat him to the punch.

"Here? It wasn't my choice, my mom brought me here." I contest, shrugging my shoulders. That's exactly what the old lady said this morning.

"We are in some deep shit." Jax mumbles, palming his face in the process.

What did he mean? What the hell are they talking about? I bang my hand on the table to get everyones attention.

"Someone please explain." Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy,

"We can't talk about it here. Come to the cafe on Burton after school." Barbra says, whispering.

"I went there, the old lady freaked out, same as you did." I inform them of this mornings episode.

"Just meet us there, ok?" Faye whispers and screams at me, staring me down.

"Us?" Ben looks at he like she's crazy.

"Yes, us." She swats him on the back, and gives him a glare.

The bell rings, and lunch is over. I only had a little bit of Pizza, so maybe the cafe after school isn't that bad. I get up from the table and fast walk to my class. It was chemistry I think, I don't really know, I fell asleep the first ten minutes.

As soon as the last bell rung, I was running out of school. Well of course, I grabbed my bag first, but then after that I was running. I made it all the way to the steps before seeing someone sitting on them, and I had to stop myself before crashing into them.

I didn't stop my self good enough because I landed right in there lap. My hands, were holding on for dear life on this persons neck, and their hands were on my waist. I looked up to be greeted with a pair of blue eyes.

"Sweet honey," I coughed a little and tried to gain my composure, "I mean, hi!"

"New girls don't usually fall into my lap, you're the first." He smiles at me, oh no. This was it. This was the kind of thing I was dreading. High school love. I'm probably red as a tomato now. Great.

"I'm Jones," He sets me down next to him "You?"

"Ive had a really bad time of people gasping when the heard my name." I look down at my fingers, nail picking. Great.

"Oh, now I have to hear it." He nudges my shoulder causing me to look up. "Come on"

"Kara. Matthews." I look at him, waiting for the 'you shouldn't have come here'

"No gasp, nice name by the way. I thought it was gonna be something exotic." He chuckles, his adams apple bobbing. Oh great.

"Because I'm exotic?" I ask him, he's a little womanizer, huh?

"I'm glad you think of yourself that way. I'll see you around." He nudges me one last time and gets up from the stairs.

I was probably red as can be right now. Oh shoot, the cafe! I basically jump out my seat, and run there. Or course I went the long way. I ran all the way home and then the way I went yesterday. I don't know these streets that well, might as well not get lost.

I arrive, a few minutes late. I place my hands on my knees, trying to catch whatever breath I had. Running is not my forte. I push open the door and am greeted by the group of friends. Then there's a buzzing in my bag. I set it down on a table, and start jamming through it to find my phone. It's mom, calling.

I place it in my hand and head outside to take the call.

"Mom?" Why was she calling? Did she need me for something?

"Why the hell would you come back here?"

"Hello?"

"are you trying to get us all killed?!"

"Mom?"

"Knock her out, and take her in the back."

"Mom!"

"Maybe if we stick to the plan, it won't happen."

"Mom! Answer me!"

"K-kara, don't come for me.." I hear a light voice, on the verge of not breathing.

"Mom!"

The phone alerted me that the call has ended. What the hell?! I sprinted from the cafe to my house. Would I get there in time? What is happening? Where did they take my mother?

I'm about a block away from my house when I feel hands around my mouth. Another picks me up, by my arms, dragging me down the road. All of a sudden a blind fold is placed over me, and my feet are being picked up too.
