"I just need a break, please. I just want a break. Please. Please." Kara's soft mumbles filled the room.
She was just laying on her bed, holding her head in her hands. A small tremble can be seen going through her body.
"It hurts to become."
|an hour later|
I called Jones, he was the only one who could talk to her now. I mean, maybe. He was gonna have to get her out of this funk. None of us really knew how to give pep talks. But he was kind of her boyfriend right?
I put myself to good use, and waited on the porch.
I didn't go into the room because I couldn't take it. I know that if my sister Bianca ever went though something like this I wouldn't be able to help her. She was just like Kara sometimes. The two went off and did everything by themselves.
And they loved family. Would do anything for them.
I saw Jones in a light blue hoodie, walking up to meet me.
"Faye, What's wrong?" He asked me, this poor boy was in love and he couldn't even tell yet.
"She's fine physically. But emotionally, not to good. You should go talk to her, she's in her room." I told him as he disappeared into the room.
Maybe Jones can help her. I really hope so.
Alright, time to dust myself off and get back in there. I lifted myself up from the porch seat and went back inside.
Barbra and Jax were still talking to that new girl. Kelsey was in the kitchen making snacks and Ben, where was he?
"Where-" I was about to ask everyone, but his head popped up around the corner.
He smiles at me, and I smile back.
Oh fresh hell, I was falling for the idiot. Oh, fresh hell.
--
I had turned to face the door, and sure enough Jones comes walking through.
"I just need a break, please?" It came out as a question, and he moved me over to the side on my bed.
"Okay." He pulled me closer to him, until I was basically hearing his heartbeat.
--
Where was Todd this whole time? Probably making hell with the deamons, or finding his way into one. God, what did I see in him?
"Faye come over here." I hear form the living room, what new disasters did we have now?
I ran over to the living room, and watched as the whole group was just staring at their phones. This is what they called me over for? What was so important?
I snatched my phone for my back pocket an looked at it. Nothing new, not messages or calls. I looked up at the service, and there was none.
"Are we all out of service?" I asked them, and they all said yes in unison.
How could we be out of service? The only way that could happen is if the hone towers we-
I looked over to the window while running over to it. The phone towers were being destroyed! The one right by our school came down with a loud bang to it. I could hear other bangs too, those must be the others.
"She's taking away our communication. She's silencing us." Barbra speaks, I've never heard her so scared before. And we just kidnapped Jane the other day.
"What else is she planning?" Jax asks her, but I could already see it.
"She's bubbling us in. She's putting us in a bubble." I said as I saw the massive purple dome enclose us inside.
"Again? Kara already took down the shield before." Kelsey thought out loud.
"T-this is different, it a dome! We can't use magic against something like this." Barbra was really terrified now, and that was enough to put me on alert.
I watched the dome cover the town completely.
And then it started.
A black mist, forming from the top of the dome. It was spreading like wild fire. What was in it? Was it going to kill us?
That's not an option, she wants our powers, she can't kill us if she wants them. What the hells was she planning?
No one was outside, they were taking shelter. I took a look around the street. It was coming up the block, and fast.
"We're surrounded, we can't win." I mumble to myself, this was really it. Who knows what was in the mist, but it seemed deadly. "look!"
I watched as a bird flew into the mist itself. It was gone for a few seconds. The guys joined me in watching.
And then the bird dropped out of the mist. Straight down to the floor, like all the life had been sucked out of it. I heard Kelsey gasp.
"Close all the windows, and seal the doors! We need a basement!" Barbra yells into action, causing everyone to listen to her commands.
I made sure all the windows were closed, and made my way up the steps. I went into Kara's moms room. Her windows were good. Then a guest room, those were good too. I bursted into Kara's room to check her windows.
I looked and saw that the one she and Jones were laying under was open, and the mist was already inside. I ran to close it but I was too late. The mist had already made it's way in, they had breathed it in and I touched it.
"Crap!" I shouted, and in that second, I was dizzy.
It was probably already getting to them, it was in here for who knows how long. I tried to make my way to the door, but I stumbled on my feet.
And then it grew dark.
