"We were gone for an hour, and you figure out her whole plan? Nice!" Ben gushes to Barbra and Jax.

"But did you find Kara?" I asked them, and Faye pinched my shoulder hard.

"Listen we got the evil plot down, finding Kara is next." Jax tells me, sticking up for his girlfriend. Nice!

"Cool, so I'm gonna just-" I point over my shoulder and start backing away "Do something."

Now that I was out of their hairs, the two love bird couples could actually talk about something. As for me, I was headed home to my older sister, Christina. She's been in defense mode since I told her Kara had come to town.

She even had me come straight home after the whole Demon thing, which was weird because that wasn't the worst thing to go through. I didn't tell her about the whole other time-stream thing. Just chalked it up to being at the cafe when the mist hit, and nothing happened.

Thank the heavens I'm as quick as a cat.

---

"Just let them go, and I'll do whatever you want. Please." It came off as a whimper, I was weak. She was going to get what she wants either way.

"Oh, Kara. I'm going to get what I want, and you did get weak, not weak enough to give away your powers though." She made her evil way over to me, and held my chin up high.

"Why are you doing this? Why?" I croaked, overtime she was near I was angry but I couldn't do anything about it. I was weak, and powerful at the same time.

"All in due time, honey. All in due time." She was cackling like a monster as she let my chin go.

---

"So, we can't do a locator spell, because we don't have her blood. We can't summon her, because we don't have her blood and we can't talk to her, because we don't know where she is." Faye muttered out, she was pissed. She liked Kara a lot.

"She's gonna have to find her way back to us." Todd with all his masculinity speaks. He wasn't even taken by the mist! What the hell was he doing trying to help? He's a coward.

"Where did you go in the mist? We all went to another frickin' time-stream!" I shouted at him and he looked not even the slightest bit hurt.

"I was here, and you really need to watch your tone. Since when did you get so outspoken?" He didn't know me well enough. I was always like this. He was so lost in his own little world. We're all trying to stay alive here, and he was just trying to find an exit.

I walked up to him and met him with my arms crossed over one another "Todd, why don't you go back to whatever grimy hole you climbed out of?" He looked around the room, he knew he wasn't wanted here. He shouldn't have done anything in the first place.

He scoffed and left in a hot blaze. Just like he would.

None of us can leave like that, we have a whole town on our shoulders. If we get out of this, I'm so giving that kid a black eye.

I returned to my seat at the table, and was given a handful of looks.

"All he does is mope and turn his back on us. I just don't understand how his father was the most powerful witch in town." Grumbling I sat back into my seat and looked anywhere but my friends faces.

"Kelsey!" Barbra shouted at me, was she really shouting at me. Todd was a bad guy! He's probably said worse about us all!

"Barbra he's a bad guy! We all know this! What are you gonna-" Barbra interjected me when she started rejoicing in her chair. Was she just running on meals? Because I don't think she had any since we've been back.

"His dad! Maybe he has a way of taking us to Kara. And if not then maybe the other parents." She was bolting out of her seat as she said this, and we all got up and followed her to the door.

"So, we're gonna ask out parents to help us save this town? That makes sense, actually. Good one Babs." Faye gives her a smile, and heads out the door.

So, now this.

I was supposed to ask my parents about saving this town. One quick problem, Mom left when I was four and Dad drank his way all the way to the grave. My sister doesn't have a shred of powers, I know I checked.

So, that leaves my aunt. Who's my legal parent\guardian. Except she's in a hospital locked away in her own mind, because she's brain dead.

Why can't life be easy?

---

"Where did you take them?!" I must have screamed that same sentence for hours now, but still no response.

The rope was about to cut off circulation to the blood flow in my arm. And I was dangling a few feet from the ground. I think my feet are numb.

If I can get out of here, and teleport anywhere. I can do it.

Come on Kara! Think, anywhere but here! Anywhere but here! I shut my eyes and focused real hard on a place.

Nothing. I can still feel the rope tying me to the same wood post was before. Or the steak. I can't believe how stereotypical she's being.

Maybe I can start a fire, and burn her. But then, I'd still be tied up. And burnt too. And what about my family? They could be here too.

No. No fires.

She weakened me, I can't use my powers. But she wants me to give them up? How was she going to do that with me so weak? What was she gonna do with me after I give them to her? I don't think my family can wait anymore. I have to give them to her. Or think of something fast.

Why not see how she could take my powers first?

"You can take my powers, please take them. Just leave them alone." I spout out with feeling, I know she'll come running.

"And there we are Kara Matthews." I hear her vile voice from the darkness. Hopefully I didn't just sign my death contract. Hopefully.
