Chapter 17

 One More Chance 

*Aaliyah's P.O.V*

After the few minutes of silence, I finally speak.

"You know, it's almost funny how I gave you the benefit of the doubt because I just didn't want to believe what my gut and others were telling me. Of all people I never thought you would do this...", I say with a slight chuckle of frustration.

"I'm s-"

I cut him off.

"Don't even say it, I'm so tired of hearing those words", I say.

I turn to Yuko. "And I don't know why you thought it was okay to mess around with a man who's clearly in a relationship. What type of woman does that?"

"Don't question me. He's the one who was pushing up on me during the entire tour, so, why would I turn him down?", she says as if there's nothing wrong with what she just said.

I direct my attention back to Michael.

"Why were you pushing up on that...thing, huh? What did I do?", I ask.

"He was lonely. He invited you on tour and you turned down the offer. I felt bad so I kept him company and now, here we are", Yuko answers with a smirk.

"Did I tell you to speak? If I were you  I wouldn't say a word right now because we are less than a foot away and I promise, if you say one more thing outta line that will be the last thing you ever say", I respond.

"Stop this! Liyah let me explain", Michael interjects.

"What is there to explain? You cheated on me during the tour because you were lonely, and then continued cheating  even after coming back. How can you possibly find an explanation that you even think I would just accept and understand?", I respond.

"Fine, I have no acceptable explanation but I am sorry. I made a mistake and if you forgive me, I promise I won't do it again", he says.

"Michael, I know that you are a huge star and everything, and you're used to getting what you want, but I am not about to stand here and act like this is alright. No, I'm not gonna just forgive you but I'm also not gonna leave you because of Nari, you remember her right? The daughter you leave me with everyday so you can come here and cheat", I respond.

"Are you implying that I'm a bad father?", Michael asks while looking sad.

"No, I'm implying that you could be better. I gotta go pick up Nari from my mother's house. Don't even worry about coming home. I'm sure Nari and I will be fine... as usual", I say as I walk out the door.

I make my way through the lobby when I hear someone calling my name.

I turn around and it's the concierge.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but could I please get an autograph", he asks.

"Sure", I respond as I grab the pen and notepad out of his hand.

I sign my signature onto it and kiss the paper.

He takes it and just stares at it for a second.

"Thank you Ms. Haughton", he says with a wide smile.

"You're very welcome", I respond.

I hop in my car and just sit there for a minute. Well, it's still early , Nari is spending time with my mom, and there's nothing to do... maybe I should just meet up with him. He has helped me a lot today.
