Court Time!

Today's that day. I'm headed to court and I can't lie, I'm so nervous right now.

"Look if you want me to get through this without you getting burned, you need to sit still!", said Tonya.

"I'm sorry, I'm so scared, nervous. I mean, in 2 more hours I'm gonna be in court getting charged for something I didn't even do. How am I suppose to stay calm?", I asked frantically.

"This is what you get. You should've let Jalice take responsibility for her own actions but no, you decided to play "superwoman" as usual", said Tonya.

"Now look, you know that girl is on probation. I couldn't let her go out like that and-"

Before I could finish my sentence Tonya cut me off, walked in front of me and pointed her flat iron at me.

"You need to stop making excuses for her! It's her own fault she in this type of mess", she said frustrated.

"I know that but since I'm clearly the only person who has her back, I can't just leave her out to dry like that. It wouldn't be right", I said.

She just rolled her eyes and went back to doing my hair.

"Ok, I hear what you're saying but do you realize what this can do to your career? I mean--"

Before she could finish I cut her off.

"Look, I was already given this speech. I'm aware of what could happen but hey, it's too late to turn back now", I said dryly.

"Ok, I'm done with your hair", she said as she spun my chair around to face the mirror, "is it okay?"

"Yes, it's perfect", I said .

All she had done was flat iron it again, which is what I wanted.

"Hurry and go get ready. You only got 45 minutes!", she shouted.

"Ok, ok, I'm going," I said as I ran up the stairs of her home.

Ever since the "incident", I've decided that I should stay with Tonya for a while. Not that I had anything against Jalice but it's just that at this time I'm not too pleased with what she helped get me into but I can't blame her completely since I decided to take the blame for her.

I grabbed my clothes off the bed and quickly put them on. I wore a white (feminine) suit jacket with a white blouse underneath, white dress pants with a gold chain across them, white heels, and for jewelry some medium sized gold hoop earrings. I don't really like makeup so I just put on some mascara and pink lipgloss.

I grabbed my purse, which was gold also, and headed downstairs.

When I reached the bottom stair, I realized Tonya was pacing back and forth. I assume she was in deep thought because she didn't notice me right away.

"There you are! We're gonna be late!", she said as she started dragging me out the house.

We got into the car and headed to the courthouse.

We got there just in time.

As I walked into the courtroom I saw John sitting with his lawyer. But I don't understand why he brought one seeing as though it's most likely gonna be a speedy trial.

I walked and stood behind my podium. While I was standing there I decided to look over my paper work.

Ugh this is so dumb. I might as well just plea guilty.

My thoughts were interrupted by the bailiff . "All rise, the honorable Judge Morgan presiding", he said.

Everyone stood up as the judge entered. She then sat down in her chair and everyone sat down too.

"The case # 27, the State versus Aaliyah Haughton. Are all parties present?", she asked.

"Yes ma'am", I said.

"Yes ma'am," said John.

I turned to Jalice who I had as my witness and whispered something to her.

She then waved over the bailiff, to whom she carried the message on to.

The bailiff walked over to the judge and whispered to her.

"Ok. Looks like there has been a change. Ms. Haughton has decided to plea guilty", she said sounding surprised.

There was a huge gasp from everyone in the court room.

I had to do it... I mean, why not?
