Falling slowly
Down to sleep,
Followed blindly
Though you're just sheep,
Living largely
Within your cage,
You're wrinkled mind
That will never age,
The desert flower
Without water blooms,
The rabid dog
Still licks it's wounds,
Lying traitors
Count their victims,
The spider didn't know
It was wrong to bite them,
Past heavily shrouded
Like fog instead of morning dew,
Secrets heavily guarded
From the gossiping crew,
Opening eyes to morning light
To find no one else awakened,
Screaming in an empty dead of night
To find you were the one to be taken,
An old mans cane still walks unmanned
Looking for a pair of shoes; a friend,
You sit in your chair of the damned
And watch your daily cartoons,
Intellectuals lose sleep
Trying to protect their fear,
Others follow reckless fate
Hoping it would land them here,
The circadian clock goes backwards
While you sleep,
Young children with insomnia
Counting sheep,
Sheep that follow
Into your dreams,
Waking you up
With devilish screams.
