~~~~2 months later when the lessons have started~~~~
I had woken up at 8 AM. It has been a few weeks since I moved here, away from my family. I do miss them but right now, I'm late for one of my morning lessons, biology. I have never been late for a lesson in my life. I ran as fast as I could, so I'm not that late. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to where I was running.
''Oww...'' and ''Ouch...'' I said and a girl who I accidentally dragged down with me. I realised what had happened and looked up to see if the girl is alright.
''Oh dear, are you alright, miss?'' I asked and gave her my hand. She took it and and stood up.
''Thanks,'' said the girl, ''And I am so sorry I bumped into you. I wasn't looking where I was running.''
''Huh?'' I got confused, ''I'm sorry too, I wasn't looking where I was going either,'' I said and smiled. She took out her phone to look at the time.
''Dammit, I'm late for my first lesson in this year. My name is Ashley, by the way,'' she said and took off to the same building I also have a first lesson.
''Wait, Ashley! I'm heading that way too,'' I caught up to her and we ran together. ''So, what lesson do you have?''
''Biology, you?'' She asked.
I giggled and opened the door to the building.
''What's so funny?'' She asked, raising her eyebrows.
''Nothing, it's just that I have biology too. With professor Butterscotch,'' I said as I saw the door to the auditorium.
''Seriously?'' She said and opened the doors to the room. ''Sorry we're late, professor.''
''Oh! Good morning, Ashley and Bubba! Don't worry, I was late too!'' Proffessor Butterscotch said and showed to our seats.
"If you want, you can sit besides me," I said and we sat down.
~~~~After the lesson~~~~

I packed my bags and waited for Ashley to finish packing. Her side of the table was really messy. Pencils and pens all over the table. I don't understand how can people like being in chaos.

"So much stuff. Why do you even take that much pens and pencils?" I asked while looking around her table.

"Just in case someone needs one and doesn't give back," She giggled, "I have encountered it many times before."

"Oh. I see," I said, "well I have psychology now. You?"

"Math. I don't really like it," she said, "we still have like 20 minutes until the next lesson."

"Yeah. I think we have those lessons in the same building," I guessed. I always had those lessons in the same building but I don't know about the other people. I don't communicate with people that much, only when someone needs to know something.

We walked outside of the room and started walking towards the other building.

"You're living in the dorm, right?" Asked Ashley.

"Yes, but with only one roommate. I needed peace for studying. I'm kind of glad my roommate is quiet but he plays bass and it's quite calming," I explained.

"Wait, did you just say he plays bass? Like bass guitar?" Ashley said with a surprised tone and a slightly horrified face. I feel like she knows Marshall and as if she doesn't want to meet him anymore.

"Yeah, so?" I answered.

"His name... is it Marshall by any chance?" She worriedly asked.

"So you DO know him. So what's with your face? Why are you so worried or scared?"

"Well..." She hesitated, "firstly, I have no clue whatsoever how he got in this school. Secondly, he's... he's my ex."

"Oh..." I said. No wonder she was scared. I would be angry and scared at the same time. And it might be really awkward if they met again.

"I will say this once. Be careful and take care of him. I know i can't do anything but I want you to keep him safe or else... well... there might be a time when he tells you." She said and turned to the other hall to her lesson.

~~~~16 PM~~~~
The lessons were already done and I'm so tired. I had to do so much today, experiments and projects. I guess I will go back to my room and take a nap.
I was almost on the 3rd floor when I heard a bass playing in the hallway. The song ended and people started talking, mostly girls. They were talking especially about how cool and sad the song was.
"Marshall, the song was so sad and yet so beautiful," said a girl from the crowd.
"Why did you sing about that if you were with your crush, the love would be forbidden?" Said another one in a concerned voice.
I turned around the corner so I could see them. Marshall looked up and scanned the crowd and saw me walking towards them.
"Well, it's just for the sadness of the song. Nothing much." He said smiling. For some reason I noticed pain and sadness in his eyes. It didn't look like his fangirls noticed it. The song might actually be true. It could be a big deal. Not being able to tell your crush about your feelings is painful.
"Oh look, it's the nerd overlord, sir Gumwad," he laughed. Some girls laughed too.
"Ha ha ha," I laughed sarcastically, "very funny, Vampire king!"
"Why do you even live in the same room with him? Can't you do anything about living with a different roommate?" Said a girl. I have actually wondered about it too but never really asked anything because I kept forgetting.
"Well I can ask for a change of roommates but I have my reasons of things staying the way they are," Marshall answered.
That's it? That's the answer? I think it's not a valid enough reason.
I walked past them and went in the room to take a nap.
