Chapter 10

I stared at Franchone blankly as she looked at me expectantly. I honestly was not expecting such words to come out from her; hence, my mind was in a complete turmoil. Would she expose me to the entire Academy? Was she a threat to me? Or a threat towards my family, even? Thoughts after thoughts were swirling in my mind, but the most frontier question now was how she found out about my gender. I really thought that I had disguised myself well. I even fooled the entire Academy, well, except those few that were in on the secret. So, how could she possibly have known? My first comprehensible thought was: should I lie to her?

The answer to my question came no sooner. "Try trusting her. I'm positive that she means no harm, and she could be the very first female friend that you would genuinely have and wished for," Jake advised in my head.

I need not give another thought to the advice that Jake had just gave me. I trusted him and I knew that his advice was always one that I could really rely on.

"I guess there's no point in feigning it since you figured it out. Before I give you my reason, I have a question," I started slowly as I replied to Franchone, "how did you find out that I was not a male?"

By the time I ended asking my question, Franchone had a rare wide smile that she was giving me with excitement twinkling in her eyes. "Well, I have always had this uncanny ability to just see through certain stuff, you know? Like how I knew you were a female at first glance when we first met."

I raised an eyebrow as I looked at her. That was really cool, I must admit, though a little scary. That also explained all those knowing looks and smiles she always had directed towards me in those past few weeks.

"So, why did you enroll in as a male? I'm really curious about it," Franchone continued, sounding really curious of the reason why I did such as she made herself comfortable on my bed.

"It's a long story, but to cut it short, I just didn't like the part of the curriculum where males and females where given separated training sessions with females being taught just self-defense moves. I'd like to know that I am able to defend myself," I summarized a little of the truth.

"I see. That's a pretty legit reasoning. Don't worry about anything. Your secret is safe with me. And you sure look like one hell of a badass chick!" Franchone teased a little before continuing in a hesitant note, "on another note, I really hope that we could be friends? I didn't really have any experiences with real girlfriends in the past."

I smiled at that, "sure thing, Franchone. I'd never had any experiences myself, and I hope that the two of us could build one."

Franchone returned the smile warmly before she rose from my bed and closed the gap between us and engulfed me in an intimate hug between two good friends, which I returned gladly.

"Oh shit!" I heard Jake cursed in my mind suddenly before I heard my room door being slammed open and an angry looking Alpha-to-be stood there. Kellen stood at my room's entrance trembling violently as his eyes were pitch black as he took in the hug that Franchone and I were in. Kellen marched in and forcefully ripped Franchone apart from our hug as he placed her roughly behind him. He then turned to face me as he snarled "Mine!" with an arm curved behind his back, around Franchone.

"Kay! Close your bedroom door with your telekinesis now!" Jake instructed impatiently and I obliged to his wish, without losing focus of the terribly angry Alpha junior in front of me. Thank goodness both the mated couple were too occupied with the current situation to notice that the door had just closed by itself. I wondered quickly as to why Jake had asked me to do such before I heard Franchone's voice pierced through the tension.
