It's been two days and Cameron still could not talk to Marissa. At first, he thought he would try to have a chat with her after her class, but that couldn't happen as Olivia hadn't asked Cameron to pick Brook up yet. She made it clear that for now, it would be better if he did not go to the dance institute to pick Book. He did not blame Olivia for that but at the very least she was talking to him, unlike his younger sister.
He tried to call her but Jenny kept on cutting his call. It was clear that Jenny do not wish to talk to him and he sincerely hope that she doesn't cut him off completely. She is his little sister and loves her. Even though he had not been a good brother like Jason had been to all of them but he cannot imagine a life without Jenny. For once, he even thought about Ronny but he was sure that he would not pick up his call.
Whereas, Jason and Stella are considered they had to go back home. Both their kids were still in Rosewood and they only came here till the weekend. But at least he had complete support from them. He only wished he would have gone to him sooner.
It was Sunday; Cameron was walking on the footpath lost in thought. He still could not digest the fact of what happened to Marissa.
When he was walking, he saw Rob and Marissa walking together. Before he could think about what would become of his actions, he impulsively stormed towards them, got hold of Rob's collar, and punched him straight in the face.
Marissa, however, was not expecting Cameron to show up in the middle of her stroll with Rob. After Ronny confronted her about her marriage to Cameron, he mentioned the fact that they told her ex-husband about what happened between her and Rob.
Even though she was aware that things are going to get complicated but with the recent development between her and Cameron, she expected him to talk to her in the past couple of days, but that didn't happen. So she concluded that it did not matter to him and she was alright with it.
Her relationship with him was still fragile and they never best equation with each other so it did not affect her much.
But his reaction now differs completely from what she had assumed. Cameron was furious. He punched Rob brutally, and if it wasn't for her, then he might have kept on beating him.
Cameron was impulsive and it did go against him most of the time but he had never been violent but with all the recent events and guilt he was feeling, took a toll on him.
"Cameron, stop." Marissa tried to stop him but he was in a different zone altogether. She had never seen this side of Cameron and she was not sure if she like it.
Where on one side, she was annoyed with his reaction but on other side, it told her that he cared for her. But at the same time, she was quite certain that it was all the guilt which was making Camera hit Rob.
"Just stop, Cameron." She managed to push him away from Rob who was lying on the floor with blood coming out of his nose and mouth. His face was also bruised.
"After what he has done to you, you are still protecting him," Cameron shouted at her, which made Marissa furious.
He had no right to interfere in her matter. In particular, after not confronting her for the past couple, he now remembers what Rob did to her. Plus, not to forget that Cameron and Marissa haven't crossed the bridge of friendship yet, so he didn't have any right to be protective of her, especially with the past relationship and current fragile bond. This didn't settle well with her. All her life, she has done things to satisfy others. But no one ever thought of her.
"I can protect whoever I want." She told him angrily.
Before anyone of them could talk anymore, Marissa stopped a cab. She helped Rob to get inside and was herself about to leave when Cameron grasped her hand.
