"I don't understand why do we have to go if they are the ones getting married?" Cameron groaned in annoyance while driving.
"Because they asked us; you being their family and me being their friend, we have to." Marissa rolled her eyes.
"Well, there is no book which states these kinds of rules."
"Actually, there is, and you have to follow it. Don't be so grumpy. We get to have the taste of so many cakes." She chirps excitedly.
"Still, it is their wedding, so they should be the ones to go cake tasting. And not to forget that you are still healing. Your leg is not perfectly fine yet. You limp when you walk."
"Cameron, I really didn't think you were this annoying. Pull up your pants, bring a smile to your face and drive fast. And I cannot stay in my bed forever, and my leg is just fine. My limp is not noticeable and A little pain is not going to kill me." Marissa glared at him.
Cameron didn't argue further and drove faster. As soon as they reached their destination, he immediately ran towards Marissa to open the door. He extended his arms and held her waist while entering the cake shop.
"You have got to be kidding me. I can walk just fine. You don't need to hold me."
"You are still not walking properly. The less burden you put on your ankle, the faster it is going to heal." Cameron explained.
"Whatever, Doc. Let's have some cakes now."
During the entire time, Cameron was discreetly glancing at Marissa now and then. She looked so content while tasting cakes.
"So, which one do you like?" The manager of the shop asked them.
"Red velvet and dark chocolate. That's my favorite. What about you?" Marissa asked Cameron in return.
"Anything is fine. Whichever you liked the best." He told her.
"Well, we both came here for the tasting, so even your opinion counts, and we need to select one today itself." Marissa turned towards Cameron.
"Yes, but select whichever you like. I don't mind anything."
"Excuse me, can you give us a few minutes to decide on the perfect one?" Marissa told the manager and pulled Cameron aside to the corner.
"Choose one," Marissa commanded while folding her hands.
"You are so stubborn. We shouldn't be selecting the cake. It should be Jenny and Ronny and not us; it is their wedding, not ours." He folded his hand-copying her.
Within just a few seconds, he realized what he said, and before he could even feel guilty and apologize to her, she burst on him.
"Jesus Christ! You are still on about that. Jenny sent us because she was confused about which cake to order, and Ronny was no help just like you are. Man up and chose a cake of your liking." Marissa confessed.
"You have got to be kidding me. So, if both of them had already selected two cakes, why did we taste so many of them?" Cameron asked her, which made Marissa a bit uncomfortable as she was now fidgeting with her fingers and looking down at the slippers she was wearing.
"Well, you see, because it's difficult to say no to free cakes, plus she asked me if there was any other cake better than these two; we could even select that." She poked her tongue out, which made Cameron chuckle.
"You girls are so difficult to understand." He started shaking his head sideways.
"We are not that difficult. So now, please tell me which cake we should select."
