2 Years Later:
I am fourteen now, and I have been training to become Catgirl for 2 years. Selina has been my mentor, and has taught me new fighting moves, new places to practice my agility, new names. I step over to the mirror, still marveling over what I can see. My hair was long, smooth, and silky, and it had that beach wave texture, with a little hollywood curls mixed in.
"BANG!" "Honey, I'm home!" Selina shouts into my room from the kitchen. We live in her small apartment, with her having the main bedroom, and me having the guest bedroom. Besides that there is only a living room, and a kitchen, even though Selina is filthy rich, she likes to live in the poorer part of Gotham to avoid any unwanted attention.
I skip into the kitchen, because even though Selina was just out grocery shopping, I always like to se the odd food she brought home for us to try.
"What did ya bring this time 'Lina?" I ask, with a hint of purring in my voice.
"The regulars kitten, and something called dragonfruit, from Costa Rica." This is pretty much how our life went until one day something happened.
I was sitting inside watching Doctor Who on our flatscreen TV, when suddenly I heard noise out on the balcony with my enhanced ears. Our balcony doors banged open. I jumped up, immediately going into a defensive stance, pulling on my mask, knowing that it wasn't Selina, she never would have caused so much noise. I dart away, pulling up my hood, into the kitchen, trying to see if they were who I thought they were.
"Crap, oh crap crap crap...." I whisper to myself; I see the Bat and the Bird enter, and then one of them says,
"Selina! Come out, we know where you are, now hand over yourself and the cats eye emerald!" I'm assuming the taller one, Batman, says.
I know what these vigilanties have done to 'Lina in the past, and I'm not stupid, so I decide to stay hidden. My head is pounding, and I want to breathe heavily, but I realize that would give away my cover. I force myself to take slow, short breaths, as they step into our apartment.
I slowly, slowly, shrink down so I'm hidden behind the marble counter; which is pretty much a classic horror movie scene hiding place. A crappy one. I peer over the counter, between the fruit bowl and the cereal box that I had for breakfast today, and study the caped crusaders.
Batman was all in black, except some spots of grey here and there, and had a bat-like cowl/hood pulled up over his head. His cape was long, and tapered into points at the end, that barely touched the ground when he walked. He could walk in complete silence, I remembered Selina telling me, and it was true, I found only hear whispers of footsteps coming from both of them.
I shifted my gaze to the shorter of the two, Robin. He was dressed in the robin suit, red top, black pants, black sleeves, accents of yellow, the works. He had an aura of agility around him, you could see it in his movements. You could see by his trademark smirk that he was probably cocky, just like 'Lina had told me. I knew how to deal with this one. He silently vaulted over the chair, and crept over to a set of drawers. Thankfully, Selina had moved her plans somewhere more secret last week, but it still unnerved me that he had come that close.
After seemingly being satisfied that Selina wasn't home, the Bat also started exploring to, going straight to Selina's room. I couldn't move, but I knew that 'Lina kept all of her "borrowed" treasures in there, under the mattress. I studied Robin some more, examining his actions. He seemed to know what he was doing, targeting only specific places in the room, like under the chair cushions, drawers, and in the desk. He just was about to head over to the kitchen when the Bat called him into the Bedroom. Only....... It didn't sound like he was in Selina's room, it sounded like he was in mine!!
A new wave of fear rushed over me, and I decided to put my skills to good use. I silently crept over to my room, and hid behind the door. As I peered into my room, what I saw infuriated me. The Bat was going through my stuff, which the Bird watching. I made a split second decision, and silently, yet gracefully crept into my room, and behind the caped crusaders.
Right before Batman could open the bottom drawer where I keep my treasures, I said,
"Who are you, and why are you in my room?" I spat out, keeping on a furious demeanor.
They whirled around to face me, with shocked expressions on their faces. I could tell with my heightened cat senses that they were already a bit wierded out by the fact that Catwoman has a teens bedroom in her apartment. And one that looks like it's been lived in.
"Who are you?" Batman said in his gruff voice, composing himself. Up close I could see that he was about a foot taller than Selina, and I was just 2 or 3 inches shorter than Robin.
"Uh uh ah!" I sing tauntingly, dancing away from their closeness. "I asked first Batsy!"
He was obviously shocked at my terminology towards him, Batsy being the name Selina called him. I dance my way into the living room, my cape swishing around my legs, making sure that they can't see my eyes.
"Who are you, and why are you here?!" Robin asks, clearly getting frustrated. Good.
"Hmmmm, hmmmm, hmm, hmmmm" I hum, dancing away from their attempts to corner me. I don't know how I know these dance steps, but it's more like my body knows them, and it is a habit to intermix my dancing with my daily routine, especially my fighting, so when I attack, yes I use cat-like moves, using my enhanced abilities, but I also add twirls, making my fighting look like a graceful dance.
Suddenly Batman lunges, grabbing my arm in a vice grip, twisting me around so I was facing way from him, taking my other arm too and pinning them behind me. I felt fear wash through me, and I thought 'what are they going to do with me?' fearfully.
Robin comes up in front of me, and silently reaches out to pull my mask off. I kick my leg up, knocking his hand away, and push up off the ground, (using my cat strength in my legs) flipping backwards over Batman, wrenching my arms out of his grip, and landing behind him. They look at at me in shock because no normal human could have made that jump.
"Wha-who are you?" Robin stutters. I smirk.
I dart over to him, and whisper in his ear, "I'm your worst nightmare birdie....." And lightly brush my lips over his cheek before sprinting to the balcony, making my sure that my hood comes off, and I poke my tail out from under my cape, using it to wave a little goodbye, making eye contact before flipping backwards off the balcony. I get a glimpse of their shocked faces, as I'm falling and I shout,
"Oh, and my name is Catgirl!" And then I shoot out my grapple that I always keep under my cape, and swungg gracefully away, flipping before I reshoot my grapple.
