Chapter 6 - Style

A week after my encounter with the bat, Selina deemed it safe enough to come back to the apartment. 

"Come on kitten, no more bats here! Oh look, they didn't find any of the loot!" She cried happily, 

"Probably because they were so shocked at me" I deadpan in reply. I mean, their faces! I smirk at the memory of the Bat and the Bird looking so ridiculous. I had told Selina the whole story, after bumping into her on the rooftops while running as far away from the bat as I could. No matter how ridiculous he looked, he was still terrifying.

"Kitten, why don't you go settle in while I sati I the food out here? Selina asks.

"Sure 'Lina!" As I go to my room, I see something that stops me in my tracks. On the doorhinge of my room, I see a scrap of yellow and black fabric, from Robin's cape. I smirk, and gently pick it up and tuck it in my pocket for safekeeping. 

~TIME SKIP~

Robin's POV:

Robin: B07 the zeta tubes announced, as I walk into the cave at Mount Justice. I was immediately bombarded by questions from the team, all having heard about the mysterious Catgirl one way or another.

"Dude! Where have you been? We've all heard about that girl! Was she hot? OW!" (Wally)

"Shut up Baywatch!" (Artemis)

"Everyone calm down, I'm sure Dick will tell us what has happened in his own time." (Aqualad)

"Was she nice? Did she have cool hair? What did she look like!" (M'gann)

"I'm going to watch TV" (Superboy)

"Guys!" I shout over the fighting, "Be quiet and I'll tell you!" 

Thy immediately go silent, and stare at me waiting for an explanation. I smirk, and let out one of your trademark cackles, darting over to the couch through the shadows in the process, giving the image that I disappeared. They whirl around and see me, and scramble over each other to get closer to hear my story.

"So me and the Bat were going to Catwoman's place to attempt to find a rare jewel....." I began.

~TIME SKIP~

"And then she just swung away, and we don't know anything else about her." I finish. I look up and see them all gaping at me. 

"Woah, that's crazy!" Wally exclaims. "But was she hot?" I roll my masked eyes as Artemis slaps him. "OW!"

"Decide for yourself Wally." I state, getting up from my potition on the couch. "I'm going to the gym, see ya!" I shout cheerfully, and disappear with my trademark cackle. As I walk through the halls of Mount Justice, I think back over what had happened. 'The girl was gorgeous, I'll give her that,' I thought, 'But what had happened to her that she got those cat features?'

I puzzle over this on the rest of the way to the gym, until I decide on that she must have been in a freak experiment or accident, to have acquired those appendages. I mount the rings, and feel my muscles pushing up my own weight, feeling waves of confusion wash over me.

"What the heck is happening to me?!" I grunt, working harder to take my mind off of the strange emotion that was flooding my body. I finally drop down, sweat dripping, then I hear Wally say; 

"Sweat is just your body crying" with one of his wierd moments of advice. I glare at him, and he lets out a whimper and darts away. I lean back against the cool wall, aching all over, and close my eyes.

'Who is this girl?' I think to myself, 'And when will I see her again?'

Catgirl's POV:

"Beep, beep, beep!" Goes my alarm, as I roll over in my soft bed to slam my hand down upon it. "Urrrggghhh" I groan, as I force myself to part with my one true love, my temprapedic mattress, and  roll out of my bed over to the shower. I turn the water on hot and while I'm waiting I take off my clothes and then step in. As I let the water run over my body, soothing me, I think back to the moment where I had missed Robin. I can't believe thAt I had the courage to do something like that, so daring, so catty...... I grinned to myself. I liked this new me better than the old, weak, shy, and always scared me.
