Chapter 9

Time skip

Three days have passed. Finally the day had come. You were nervous, but so were the other three.

"Levi, everything is ready." Farlan announced. The four of you left the house and acted like it was another normal day, where you would do a normal job like always. While you were walking, Farlan said:

"We've got confirmation on Jan. He's in a first rate hospital. The identity of that man is also confirmed. This job is the real thing."

You kept on walking until you spotted your target. A kart full of food and medical supplies. You launched the wires and you, Levi and Farlan flew near the kart, while Isabelle kicked the content of the kart. Some people of the Underground City picked up some medical supplies. The four of you flew away in your 3DMG.

"Levi! They're here" Farlan announced after a while. "The pursuers."

You and Levi turned your head to see the men that were chasing you. There were three man from the Military Police and behind four man with a green cape were also chasing you.

"The Military Police again?" Isabelle said with a smirk "Haven't learn their lesson, have they?" She turned to Levi. "Levi-bro! What I just said was a cool line, right?"

You laughed at this. Even in such a complicated situation, Isabelle was always the same.

"Are you an idiot?" Levi scold her. He then did some pretty cool moves to outwit the pursuers. The first three man fell for the trick, but the ones with the cape were better in using the 3DMG, and kept on chasing you.

"Those movements..." Farlan said "They're not from the Military Police!"

"Yeah, there's no mistake. It's them." You said "That Wings of Freedom crest... It's the Survey Corps!"

"As people who battle the Titans, they're as different as expected." Farlan said.

"You know what to do, right?" Levi asked.

"Of course." you said.

"Let's do it!" Isabelle exclaimed.

The four of you took separate ways making the four members of the Survey Corps split in order to capture you.

You flew as fast as you could without spend to much gas. You used some tricks that Levi and you develop since you learned how to use the 3DMG. But to no avail. The guy with the green cape kept on following you. You were going to try another one, but when you shot your wires you felt something cutting one of them. Now you were hanging in the air and the soldier came close to you and tried to arrest you. But you weren't that easy. You recoiled the wire and let yourself fall to the ground, in order to hide somewhere. But as soon as you fell on the ground, the guy from the Survey Corps was already there. He grabbed your right arm and twisted it behind your back and you heard something snapping. You felt so much pain, you couldn't make a single move. You sighed. You hope ate least no one was caught. But unfortunately you were wrong.

The man dragged you in to an ally and you could see that both Farlan and Isabelle were also caught. But when you looked in another direction you saw Levi fighting with a tall blonde guy with blue eyes. The tall guy was wearing swords while Levi used is usual pocket knife. For the first time since you had met Levi, you were afraid that he might lose a battle. Suddenly the tall man grabbed Levi wrist in which he had the knife, while Levi grabbed the other hand of the tall man.

"Stop it. Look around you." The blond guy said to Levi.

Levi then looked behind him, only to see the three of you arrested and an angry Isabelle trying to escape from the women that was grabbing her. Understanding the situation, Levi dropped is knife, meaning he gave up. On one hand you were relieved that no one got hurt, even if your arm still hurt like hell.

The blond man let go of Levi and said:

"You're quick at reading the situation."

"Tch" Levi said while sending a death glare to the man in front of him, even though the man didn't look afraid at all.

The soldiers took the 3DMG out of you and put chains on your wrists. Then thy put the four of you on your knees on the floor. The tall man was in front of you.

"I'll ask a few questions." he said "Where did you get this" he asked, showing you the 3DMG. No one answered. "You guys are skilled with the 3DMG," he went on " who taught you all that?" Still no answer.

The guy approached Levi. "You're their leader, right? Were you trained in the military?" Levi glared at the man but didn't say a word. Suddenly one of the other soldiers grabbed Levi's head and smacked it on the floor, in a dirty pool. The three of you gasped.

"You bastard!" Isabelle said. Levi in the ground glared at the blond man asking the questions.

"I'll ask on more time." the guy said "Where did you learn how to use the 3DMG?"

Afraid that the guy would hurt Levi, like they did to you, you answered:

"Not from anyone! We learned it by ourselves!"

"Self-taught? I don't buy it." the man said.

"It's just so we're able to rise even a bit in this dirty garbage place!" Farlan said. "People who're used to sunlight like you guys won't understand" he continued.

"That's enough! Let bro go!" Isabelle said "Don't be cocky just because you are soldiers!"

The soldier that was grabbing Levi lifted him up. The blond man kneel down next to Levi.

"My name is Erwin Smith. And yours is?"

"Levi"

"Levi, why don't we make a deal?"

"A deal?"

"I will let your crimes go unpunished. In return lend me your strength. Join the Survey Corps."

"And if I refuse?" Levi asked.

"The Military Police will have you. considering all of your crimes, you and your friends won't be treated very nicely. Choose whichever you prefer." Erwin threatened.

"Fine." Levi answered after a few moments. "I'll join the Survey Corps."
