Kannan's POV
I am making my way to Ezra's cell, but what concerns me is that our attempt to break into the Star Destroyer was fairly easy. We were only met with a small number of troopers in the Bay and there were no difficulties trying to fly near the ship as well. I knew that something was going to go wrong because usually when events like such occur nothing good will come out of it.
With every step I have conquered, I merely have to turn a few more corners until I reach Ezra's cell.
2 corners.
1 corner.
BOOM!
I heard an explosion to my left side right where Ezra is suppose to be held. Within a matter of seconds a glowing figure comes creeping out of the cell. "Ezra?" I asked. The figured turned their head to face me and to my surprise it was him. "Ezra! Oh thank the Force that you are all right. What happened? How'd you get out?"
The only response I received was a plasma blast near me as a warning shot. "Wow, what was that for?" I inquired.
"For two reasons: first one for leaving me and-and the other I don't know. I just don't feel like I can trust anyone anymore. I'm not sure if you only came for me for my power or 'cause you care about me. I don't know Kannan!" Ezra vented.
"Ezra, this again? I already told you that you are an asset to our cause because you are a rebel and we need you on our team and in our family not for you power." I explained.
"That's just something that you could be making up. I don't know Kannan! I'm scared!" Ezra the fell to his knees sobbing profusely. I walked up to him with caution making sure to not frighten him any further.
"Ezra, look at me." Ezra obliged my command and looked up at me. "Look at me in the eyes. Would I ever lie to you for my own benefit? Ezra, we love you. And-and I would, we would be in shambles without your presence." The kid seemed to be easing up. Everything seemed to be fine until I felt a shot to the shoulder.
Is this a better chapter, eh???? It's not that much longer, but what evs. I wanted to leave you guys on a cliff hanger.
