More information - In this story, the main character, Katherine's (Katie) family owns three cars. One for her sibling, one for her dad, and then one for her mom. Remember that. Later in this chapter, I'm going to be mentioning things about cars and stuff and I want you to know that Katie doesn't have a car. You'll find out later why I'm telling you this.
"Katherine Adeline Reid!" I hear my mom yell.
"Mmmmm?" I groaned tiredly, still half asleep.
"You have 10 minutes to get to school! I called for you to get ready 50 minutes ago while I went to the Asher's place to drop something off!" She yelled, irritation clear in her voice.
At that I jumped out of the bed and looked at my clock.
7:05 A.M
"Crap!" I said.
"Well! Are you ready or not?!" My mom asked.
"Just wait a minute." I said while looking through my closet for an outfit.
After I finished my sentence, I heard footsteps in the hallway. It was my mom. She then opened the door.
"Oh, Katie. Again?" She asked with a small smile.
"Sorry." I said sheepishly.
"Just don't make this a constant thing." She told me.
"Don't worry I won't." I say while taking a shirt out of my closet.
"Hurry up." She told me before closing the door.
I hurriedly pick out a pair of jeans and put them on. I then take the read sweater off the hanger and put it on. I slide on a pair of socks and put on a pair of brown vintage-looking shoes. I then take my cross bracelet off my nightstand and slide it onto my arm. I grab a hair tie and head towards my mirror and style my hair into a messy bun type. I look at the time and see that it's 7:10. I hurry to my bathroom and brush my teeth.
After I brush my teeth, I walk out of the bathroom, grab my backpack and phone, make sure I have everything and walk out the door. As I close my door, I yell, "Mom! I'm ready!"
"Okay! Let's go!" She says.
I run down the stairs until I reach the door.
"C'mon now. Hurry up." She tells me.
I grab the doorknob and start to open the door when I realized that Danny wasn't down here. Danny was my twin brother. He was older than me by two minutes.
"Wait. Where's Danny?" I asked my mom.
"You're brother left early this morning to hang out with Liam, Jack, and Ian." She explained.
"Wow. He actually woke up early?" I asked shocked.
"I know." My mom said with a chuckle.
"Now c'mon. You're already late." She said while pushing me out the door.
We walk to my mom's Audi A8 L W12 Sedan. I guess you could say we had a bit more money than your average person.
We get into the car and my starts the car up. Now, you're probably wondering, why don't you have a car of your own but your brother
does? Why are you riding with your mom and not with your brother? Well, first of all, I didn't like driving alone because I already feel as awkward as it is. Plus, remember what I said about having a bit more money? Having a bit more money meant my parents wanting to buy us the best. So, if I showed up to school with a glamorous shiny car, everybody would be looking at me and probably saying I was a spoiled brat. So that's that.
As for the why don't you ride with your brother question, it's simply because I can't stand him or his friends. My brother is your typical cocky jock. We may be twins but we have more differences than similarities. For example, as you already know, my brother is athletic. I'm not. I focus more on academics than sports, while he slacks off. He's popular, I'm not. And If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm a nerd. I like to think of myself as one of his burdens. I don't mind though, I actually like being in his shadows. Like I said, I don't like attention. He likes to brag and his friends are the same. All of them are jocks. I certainly don't want to ride to school with neanderthals. Since I hate attention, imagine the amount of attention I would get riding to school with the most popular people in school. Did I mention my brother was the soccer captain? No? Well he is. Being the captain of a sport certainly meant you were going to be popular. Especially for popular sports like soccer or football.
"We're here, honey." My mom said as she parked beside the school.
"Thanks mom." I said with a smile as I got out of the car and waved her goodbye.

Hope you guys like the first chapter. This is pretty lame so far. Hopefully it'll get better. By the way, Katie (Katherine) is a senior as well as Danny (her brother) // By the way, I apologize for repeating a lot of information in this chapter // You can see what Katie's outfit was at the top/side or wherever the picture is depending on where you're reading this.
