Sami's parents got out of bed at exactly 6:53 am, the exact time Sami bound into their room seven years ago to remind them that it was her birthday and that she was finally six. You know, in case they forgot.

They smiled fondly at the memory, tears already forming in their eyes. They walk to Sami's room and pause before opening the door. They don't go in there often, it brings back to many painful memories.

Nothing in the room has changed in seven years. They squeeze their intertwined fingers taking a deep breath before pushing the door open. The room was fairly clean for being a six year olds room. The night before her birthday she announced, "I need to clean my room because I'm going to be a big kid tomorrow and big kids have clean rooms" before shutting herself in her room.

Sami's parents made their way to the bookshelf making sure to step over the half finished puzzle Sami left on the floor. They grabbed multiple photo albums before sitting criss cross on Sami's bed.

Opening the one marked with a '2' they reminisce on the day they brought Sami home. She was two then, just starting her terrible twos. Sami was never that bad though. She was carried into the house and immediately said, "down, I walk." She was very independent, or at least she wanted to believe she was. They were both crying now, Sami's parents, as they flipped through the photo album stopping occasionally to share a story behind a picture.

After they finish that album they pick the one marked '3' as they start flipping through it there is a knock at the door. They freeze momentarily before wordlessly deciding to ignore it.

There are always people who knocked on the door to talk to Sami's parents as if Sami was dead and they were not now or ever going to listen to it.

They continued flipping through the album stopping at a picture of Sami being scolded. She wanted to taste the colorful fish food and even after she was told no, she decided she would. Thankfully she was caught before she put any in her mouth. She was being scolded but she wore a happy, lighthearted expression as she always did.

They continued to flip through until they got to the last page, closing the album and picking up the one marked '5'. They stopped flipping at a picture of Sami in the backyard with Tyde. They were playing catch and Tyde threw the ball too high for her to catch. He apologized saying "Sorry, bad throw" Sami smiled at him before saying, "no Uncle Tyde, that was a great throw. She turned around taking a few steps towards the ball before turning towards her parents. "Saying kind things even if you don't mean them is still polite right?"

They set that album aside, skipping over the one marked '6' and grabbing the one labeled 'professional'. Sami hated the professional pictures because she had to sit still for long periods of time. "Tilly" Troye said before breaking down in sobs, "I miss her."

Tyler closed the album setting it aside. And wrapping his arms around Troye's frame. "Me too TimTam. Me too."
