After bombarding Hannah with questions ranging from how old their daughter looked, 'twelve or thirteen' to 'why the hell did you wait so damn long to say something' to which Hannah answered, 'Ingrid and I got home to the family in a mini van speeding away, it was packed full of stuff and normally I wouldn't have paid it any mind but Marelyn said the little girl mouthed 'help me' from the back seat.' Troye and Tyler were in the back seat of an uber, neither of them emotionally stable enough to drive, on their way to ajana.
Troye used to dream about the ways he would kill the people who took Sami away from him but he wouldn't do it anyway, or at least that's what he says. He told Tyler about his thoughts a few times and Tyler agreed that if, heaven forbid something happened to Sami, he would help hid the bodies but if Sami was alive and well she'd need them with her, not in a prison cell.
As they pulled up to Hannah and Ingrid's house they saw police cars and news reported and cameras everywhere.
When Tyler was helping Troye out of the uber he heard a snippet of a police questioning that caught his attention, "Now I know this is scary but I'm gonna need you to state your name"
Tyler turned to see who they were talking to, that must be Megan, Hannh and Ingrid's daughter. Tyler squinted as a bright flash went off next to him, "how does it feel to know your daughter may be found very soon?" A reporter asked but was then shoed away by a female officer.
"Mr. And Mr. Oakley-Mellet?" The officer questioned. "That's us," Troye said in a hopeful tone. His hopes were high, he knew he had to keep them low. Though neither of them had lost hope, neither of them could believe they might actually see their baby again and soon.
"As you both probably already know, a child matching the description of a drawing of a representation of what Samantha-"
Tyler cut her off, "Sami". Troye continued for him, "She hated- hates being called Samantha," Tyler squeezed Troye's hand a little tighter after his screw up and Troye squeezed back.
"Right. My apologies," the officer restarted her statement. "As you both probably already know, a child matching an artists representation of what Sami," she put emphasis on the name, "would look like had been seen fleeing the neighbourhood with her suspected kidnappers." She paused clearing her throat, not doing anything to help the anxiety levels of the kidnapees parents. "We've had officers on their trail for the last hour, so far, we've had little luck,"
Static sounded over the walkie talkie and both Troye and Tyler held their breath, "we found them,"
Tyler looked at Troye before rushing to the police car and opening the door, "I don't think so," the cop said, "I think it would be best if you both stay here,"
Tyler clicked his seatbelt onto place before looking up at the officer, "I'll be damned if I don't see my baby as soon as possible. I'm going," Troye nodded in agreement climbing into the car next to Tyler.
The officer sighed and got into the car pulling up the coordinates sent to her. The lights got turned on and Troye watched as all the cars pulled over making room for the police car. 'Humans are so cute' Troye thought to himself.
They got to the location fairly quickly. Two people were handcuffed and sitting in the back of a police car. Tyler's heart dropped. He didn't know how he knew it but he did. This was not their little girl. The feeling in the car changed from one of hope to one of devastation.
They got our of the car and walked over to the little girl. She looked frightened but seemed relieved to be free from her captures. "Hi, what's your name?" Troye asked.
The girl glanced up at the cop car he captures were in, "My old name was Paisley but now my name is Rachel," she said looking at the ground as she spoke.
"Well Paisley, do you know our daughter Sami?" Paisley gasped and looked up her eyes darted between the police car and Troye.
"You can't call her that! And don't call me that!" Shd lowed her voice, "He'll kill me too," Tyler took a few steps back, his mouth open in shock, tears started streaming down his face and he let out a loud sob. Too.
"No," Troye said, "No," he repeated only this time, louder, "where's my little girl? Where is she!?"
Paisley pointed in the direction of the forest lining the road and Troye sprinted off in that direction. "Troye!" Tyler yelled running after him.
He stopped when he lost track of his husband. After hearing a loud sob he continued toward the sound albeit a lot slower. When he found Troye on his knees with his back facing him, Tyler felt his heart drop, "She's so beautiful Tilly," Troye said without looking up.
Tyler joined Troye on his knees in front of the lifeless body of their little girl. She truly was beautiful. Tyler puller her body closer so her head was resting on his lap. His once blue jeans stained red with his daughters blood. "She is beautiful," Tyler finally replied. Troye smoothed her long brown hair down.
They had found Sami.
