Finally, finally, the 2 hours were up. But who was more excited; Scalf, or the students? Who knows.

"Stay out of trouble," Scalf stated eagerly as the 5 students gathered their phones off of the desk. The eager tone resonated from how horrifying it sounded to sit through another session of an off-brand Breakfast Club.

Scott chuckled as he pocketed his phone, "No promises," he quipped before following Mitch's lead out of the room.

Scalf replied with a sarcastic smile before shaking his head and watching the 5 of them pile out to freedom.

"Hey," Kevin exclaimed, bringing the attention of the other 4 to himself. They all stopped and looked at him, prompting him to continue.

Kevin cleared his throat, "You guys seem fun. Do you wanna go get lunch or something?" he offered eagerly.

Several awkward glances were exchanged, before Kirstie broke the silence.

"I'm going out to lunch with my boyfriend, thanks for the offer though," she replied, "I should probably get going before I'm late. See ya guys later," she exclaimed before practically rushing towards the stairs.

Kevin sighed before looking at the other three, "What about you guys?" he offered, unaware that he was only one in the group that was oblivious.

Mitch cleared his throat, "Actually, Scott and I were already gonna go get lunch. You're welcome to join us, Kevin," he offered with a shrug.

Kevin looked between the three of them awkwardly, slowly catching on to the tension. He shook his head, "That's fine, I don't want to impose," he replied before clearing his throat.

Scott shrugged, "Ok well, we should get going before my presence becomes too much of a burden," he stated passively before turning and tugging on Mitch's arm in the process to turn him around too.

Avi bit the inside of his cheek to refrain from arguing, and settled for shaking his head and watching as the two linked arms and headed down the stairs.

Kevin raised his eyebrows, looking towards Avi, "What was that all about?"

The brunette shook his head, "Don't worry about it," he murmured before walking forward.

Kevin jogged after him, "Hey listen, I didn't mean to get you a detention, I just thought it was only r—"

"It's fine," Avi cut him off, not looking in his direction.

Kevin huffed before catching up with him again. "Even if it was wrong, thank you for helping me with the paper," he stated as they descended the stairs.

Avi sighed in defeat as he came to a halt, startling Kevin slightly. "If I go get lunch with you can I go home in peace?"

A large grin formed on Kevin's face as he nodded excitedly.

...

"God, I could eat everything I am starving," Mitch exclaimed after he and Scott met up in the parking lot of one of their favorite pizza places.

They walked in unison, but Scott didn't reply. Mitch looked over at his blond cohort and examined the fact that he was staring off at nothing as they walked.

He sighed before grabbing his hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze, getting his attention. Scott looked down at him. Mitch smiled up at him, hoping it would help at all.

A sheepish smile formed on the taller boy's face as he intertwined their fingers casually and continued into the restaurant.

...

"So, how was your detention?" Andrew questioned as he watched Kirstie tear apart her straw wrapper and drop the remnants onto the table.

Kirstie laughed to herself, "It was...interesting. They started singing. They were good, but it was so...weird. They were weird," she assured him.

"I'll take that as a compliment," a familiar voice replied as Scott and Mitch walked past their booth, laughing as Kirstie flinched in response.

She practically gaped up at them and watched as they seated themselves in the booth behind Andrew. She started stammering uselessly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean—"

Both boys laughed. "Trust me, we've gotten much worse. We'll take it," Mitch replied, and Scott nodded in agreement.

Kirstie slouched in her booth, but was grateful when they averted their attention back to each other.

Her eyes darted over to Andrew who was immersed in his phone, and hadn't even noticed the awkward exchange.

She sighed in defeat before scooting towards the end of the seat, "I'll be right back. Gotta pee," she stated simply before heading towards the bathroom.

...

"So, I called the gym yesterday, right? And I told the lady—"

"Shh," Scott cut Mitch off quickly, trying to tune into the conversation right behind him.

Mitch's smile fell, and his expression was claimed by offense, "Excuse m—"

"Shh," Scott hissed, holding up his hand, and turning his head slightly.

Mitch glanced around him at Andrew alone in the booth, talking on the phone.

"Yeah yeah, I'll be there after this lunch is finally over. Then it's just you and me...does that sound good?" he asked in a lower tone, probably trying to emanate seduction.

Mitch shook his head, "Ugh...straight people," he murmured.

"I gotta go. Love you baby," Andrew stated quickly before hanging up and watching as Kirstie returned.

Scott looked back towards Mitch. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"

Mitch rose his eyebrows, "What? That white heterosexual males are trash?"

Scott gave him an annoyed look, "Not all of them," he replied.

The other boy laughed, "Right. You were saying?"

Scott leaned forward so he could speak quieter. "Kirstie is so nice. She doesn't deserve an asswipe like him," he pointed out.

Mitch leaned forward as well, "We're not friends with her and she called us weird," he reminded him simply.

The blond shrugged, "Yeah, but no one deserves someone like that. And was she wrong?" he challenged.

Mitch rolled his eyes, "What did you have in mind?"

As soon as a mischievous grin formed on Scott's face, Mitch knew this certainly wouldn't go well.
