"Hey," a familiar voice blurted out, startling Scott as he shoved books into his locker.

He looked to his left, looking down at Kirstie. "Oh...hello," he replied awkwardly.

Kirstie cleared her throat before looking up at him, "I just wanted to say thank you. Mitch told me why you guys egged Andrew's house."

Scott laughed, "No problem. He was a sleaze anyway."

"Are you guys gonna turn yourselves in?" she inquired, leaning against the other lockers.

"Yes, we are," Mitch cut in, walking up next to Kirstie.

Scott shook his head, "No. There's no proof. We're the only 3 that know. Eventually Fischer will give up on it."

Mitch narrowed his eyes at his taller counterpart before crossing his arms, "Yeah? And what if she randomly finds out, months from now? Then what, Genius?"

"She won't," Scott argued, closing his locker and crossing his arms as well.

Kirstie shifted uncomfortably, "Well, you guys have fun with...this. I'm gonna go," she muttered, before backing away slowly.

Mitch groaned, "I hate you."

Scott smiled proudly, "I know. You coming over?" he questioned as they began heading out of the school.

"I suppose."

...

"Avi!"

Avi sighed softly, before coming to a halt and turning around as Kevin jogged after him. It's not that he didn't like the kid, he just was in no mood for human interaction and just desperately wanted to go home.

"What?" he replied, blandly as Kevin caught up with him.

Kevin wore a large smile. "Ok, so, you know how SnowComing is coming up, right? Y'know, like homecoming but it's in the winter—"

"Yes, I know what SnowComing is. What about it, Kevin?" Avi interrupted impatiently.

"Student Council needs some live performances. They're holding auditions next week. I was thinking maybe me and you could do a duet or something," Kevin explained, excitedly.

Avi nodded slowly, "Yeah, performing isn't really my thing," he replied simply as he turned to leave.

"Aren't you in choir?" Kevin questioned, dumbfounded.

"Yup."

"Come on, it could be fun," Kevin urged as he followed eagerly.

Avi stopped before looking back at Kevin. "Maybe," he compromised. As soon as he turned to leave again, Kevin gasped in excitement, bringing him to a halt again.

"We should recruit Kirstin, Mitch and Scott too. A little quintet? That would be so cool," he rambled.

Avi immediately lost interest, before shaking his head. "Trust me, that would most definitely end terribly," he assured the other boy.

Kevin frowned before sighing in defeat. "I saw the picture of you and Scott. So, I understand your hesitation. But what if this makes you guys at least civil again?"

The bearded man laughed humorlessly, "Even if I were civil with Scott, it wouldn't keep Mitch from murdering me and making sure no one finds my body." That was his last comment before he turned and headed down the stairs, leaving Kevin alone.

...

Kirstie smiled down at her phone as she added Jeremy into her contact list. She just wanted to head home and tell her Mom all of the shocking news.
